The service would enable subscribers to avail themselves of a download speed in the range of 2 Mbps to 24 Mbps, a statement said. BSNL has introduced the advanced technology with 15,000 hi-speed broadband connections for the Madurai telecom district comprising the districts of Madurai, Dindigul and Theni.

seems to be ADSL, new wine in old bottle or old wine in new bottle whichever way. They have not said fibre anywhere in the story. This is just BSNL doing some spin work.

2 Mbit/s to 24 Mbit/s? Was this option not available in Madurai before?And starting from 2 Mbit/s? Come on.Can anyone from there please confirm?
