Hi All,Has anybody here has experience of getting a marriage registered? I live in Faridabad and my wife is from west Delhi. I got married approximately 8 months back.I have contacted few so-called advocates, and each one is giving me different information. In addition to it, their charges are ranging from 7000/- to 15000/-.I would want to know that anybody has done this job without a tout in recent time? If yes, I need tips so that the number of leaves that we take from our offices is minimal. If any experience from a tout, it would be great if someone can provide me his contact details, if the guy was informative and didn't asked for hefty sum of money.Looking forward for a reponse.Thanks.Kapil Malhotra

you need to be a resident of delhi to get the marriage registered in Delhi. Need some valid ID: ration card , passport etc which has delhi address..

The best way is to leave the marriage hall (with garland in tact) and drive to Local sub registrar's office and sign their Register. By evening Your Father in law or side kicks can collect directly the cerificate after giving a small donation to their welfare fund! Not Rs 5000-15000. Their form fees is not more than Rs 100 or so. max 2-3 k.If you dont do on the marriage day, hope you have your marriage invitation, marriage day photos (havan/muhurtham time in your respective caste/community funny dress & not the reception photos in suit.:warning:. If you have the time ,walk to the local Sub-registrar's office pertaining to your locality and catch hold of officer in charge + tout. (go with all the photos),It may work out cheaper than lawyer ( lawyer wants minimum Rs 5-10K to look at you)Since I came from abroad and got married and left in a hurry with the bride with in a week,This was like a fire drill ( not to mention changing the brides passport name changed from maiden name to husband's surname, apply visa for her in the new passport...etc etc):Boy Surrender:Note : I did Marriage registration Chennai .Delhi's inflation today in kick backs have to be taken in to a/c.Come back to me when you have any doubts in Divorce and Hindu Marriage Act !!:angelnot:

hah. which registrar office would be open at 4am in the morning? 🙂 the best way to deal with it is to get married in court!

hmm...15k to get marriage register is a rip off...at max 4000 maybe should be taken by the advocate.....

this is why i think having a lawyer friend from school is like very helpful.

A normal tout will work. any such tout cost not more than Rs 1000 in Mumbai. BTW is marriage registered in Court. If i am correct it is registered in Sub Registrar office and I have never seen any advocate there. One can himself do the things but have to waste a lot of time. 2nd option is to identify a tout at registrar office, follow him like Vyomkesh Bakshi then get your work done accordingly 😀

below are charges in mumbai if you register in year Rs. 50if one yr - 2yr Rs 100and after 2yrs Rs 200now a days you can go to local Municipal office and register office and register the same ...you need Affiliated on bond paper with stamps on it ... i spend around 600-700 bugs including 200 registration charges ... went directly to register office so need to visit there 2-3 time

Has anyone registered a marriage in Delhi? Both are residents of Gurgaon or Ghaziabad but got married in Delhi.

Hopefully someone can share any tips or experience...
