I have used Note 2 and LG G2 of Android. From iPhone side, I have used 3G, 4, 4S, 5S and 6S Plus.

iOS: Positives
1. iPhone 6 and above devices are smoothest devices with minimal UI stutter.
2. Lesser bloat compared to Android.
3. Timely updates. If Apple releases software update, your device will get it no matter the country or the carrier.
4. Show..sha.. Sad but true. Rose gold is still a status symbol. People judge you based on your phone.
5. Dual Core processor in 6S is still as fast as Quad/Octa Cores found in just announced Samsung Galaxy S7/LG G5.
6. Good Camera. I felt enraged when my iPhone 6S Plus captured better photos than my Sony Alpha A5000 Mirrorless DSLR.

iOS: Negatives
1. There is no file system. You have to convert videos to MP4 (video codec: h.264 and audio codec: aac) only. The files must be synced or transferred using iTunes only.
2. You cannot use torrent app to download directly to your device.
3. iOS apps may be of better quality, but are sometimes more costly.
4. iPhone 5S and lower devices have acquired Android's trademark lag/stutter. Doubts are being raised about Apple's planned obsolescence strategy.
5. iOS also employs input blocking where you have to wait 1-2 seconds after UI animation finishes before your phone is responsive again.
6. Limited customization. You cannot theme or add widgets to your phone. Wait for jailbreak.
7. You will have to buy MFI Lightning cables and other accessories.

You need to decide based on your usage and budget.

@chromaniac Is it a sarcastic reply and @d5aqoëp thank you so much for highlight the plus and minus of iOS.

2) I don't use torrent in Android as well
3) Had that doubt but you clarified it better
5) You mean unlocking the device?
6) Not much of a guy who prefers customization, can't we add widgets in Notification panel?
7) MFI ligtning cable for fast charging?

No I was not. But as an Android user, you would need to get used to a bunch of limitations. But things are much better today than it was few years ago. For me the biggest annoyance is single button UI.

Sorry about that, i know few limitations and as you said physical button for back will be missed.

The fact that you are not really dependent on iTunes for even the little things these days is a huge plus. If you are going for a modern device (6 or 6s), the user experience should be great.

If you can wait for a few months, get the next version. I mean we are in the middle of the iPhone release cycle right? 😛 Your phone would be one generation old in six months. With Android, there is little choice... Your phone gets outdated in 2 months. With Apple you can at least get around a year of the latest phone in your hands. Unless of course you find a reasonable deal. Personally, I think the best time to get an iPhone is at launch. There is very little depreciation in the first year of ownership. You can get a pretty good deal even in the second and third year.

For me the biggest annoyance is single button UI.
For me the single home button is the biggest plus point and is less confusing which is back and which is multitasking or options button. Then there is long press and what not. Android buttons differ from device to device. Can drive you crazy.

6) Not much of a guy who prefers customization, can't we add widgets in Notification panel?
7) MFI ligtning cable for fast charging?[/USER]

No you can not add YOUR widgets. Only those apps which support widgets work. And such apps are rare.

If you want iOS ,... just forget the customization... you will have to accept whatever settings Apple wants / provides.

no. 7 - i am not sure what he means.

For me the biggest annoyance is single button UI.

Me too.. I hate pressing thumb every now and then. But I swiched on "assistive touch" which gives u home button plus other 7 buttons on screen. (something similar to halo in android - but not as good)

Mfi cable means "Made For iPhone" cable. They cost upwards of ₹600 because of special licensed charging and syncing chip inside them. You can get ₹100 cables but they are fake Chinese crap which stop working or can damage your device.

Learn about iOS input blocking from here

It has nothing to do with lockscreen or touchID.
