Excitel Fiber Announced!

tbh. you are going to pay less for a higher speed plan. your only investment is 1000 which is 'refundable' 😜

Yup will definitely apply for it and test it out next month cause I have holidays xD. More speed for same price doesn't hurt xD.

Excitel Fiber rollout depends on the demand area wise, but not only. There are other factors that are considered, some of them being related to stability of existing network in that area.

There will be more aggressive information campaigns soon that will target to reach more of the existing users and inform them about benefits of moving to Fiber and this way more areas will get activated.

Stay tuned...

just curious. why are plans cheaper than ethernet on fiber? i mean cost of bandwidth remains the same for you!

how come fiber plans are so cheap ?
FUCKING CHEAPER THAN MY 50MBPS PLAN !!!????

799 + tax = 820 rupees
and according to one screenshot it is BLOODY 699+tax = 720?

will they automatically upgrade my speed to 100 mbps?
with less money????????

PLEASE tell me the difference of fiber and ethernet

from the screenshot on the first page. you would need to pay 1000 rupees as refundable deposit.
they would provide you with the ont device and wiring for free. at least for the first batch of customers.

they cannot upgrade you to fiber without rewiring your house and providing you with the fiber to ethernet device.

Pretty sure that the whole network layout won't change we would still be behind dual NAT as far as I can guess. Cause changing the layout would be pretty expensive (given that the price has not increased by much) considering they would have to provide public IPs to all fiber customers.

@philip marlowe You have been explaining a lot that Excitel is better. But, What do you say about it?

You don't have Power Backups and you don't even do the checks with LCO about it.

HONEST REVIEW ABOUT PATHETIC EXCITEL

Hello, I logged a installation request (new connection) for Excitel on Saturday. I did the confirmation of it when they called me.

Saturday: After that, LCO's Sales Guy calls me and I had like 30-40 min. conversation with him where I asked him 10 different way to know if there is any issue with the ISP (Like Down, Frequent Disconnection and Packet Loss). I asked him multiple times so that I can find a clue if there is any on-going issue.

He used the word "Honest" when he said "I will speak honestly with you but 2 months back Excitel was very bad in your area but now it is max. to max. 1-2 times down in your area and fixed in half-hour max".

This was his consistent and constant reply to my multiple questions related to this. So, I asked him to come on monday and install it.

Monday: He calls me and I again asked him 5 times about the same if you have any issues with your network in our area or if it goes down more than 5 times per month? then let me know truly.

He said "I told you that day also that it's hardly 1-2 times per month and not more than that".

So I asked him to come and install it. He came and filled the form and asked for documents. Everything was done.

After 2 hours, his wire-man came and installed the wire. Now starts the real issues:

1. No Power Backup if NDPL/Tata Power is off. Excitel will be off.
2. Huge Packet Loss (2-5% Packet Loss).
3. Slow upload speed until I called the support (which should have come by default only).

I had huge conversation with Excitel Support and they didn't even know that the LCO has not installed Power Backup in our area.

I asked support what do you expect me? I move from my 2 years old connection of Hathway and 13 years old connection of Airtel to Excitel to see that your internet will be off if there is a power cut in our area. So if there is a power cut daily (which is happening), it is easy 3-4 times a day down of Excitel. Making an average of 100 times per month. So Excitel Sales man don't know the difference between 1-2 times per month and 100 times per month?

It's 21st Century.

Excitel Support Guy had no words and logged the complaint.

LCO asked the wire-man to cut the wire and comeback (because I was talking about disconnection if there is no power-backup).

I would say one thing to everyone of you honestly, Excitel is not a choice, it's not a luxury. It proves you get what you pay for. They don't even deserve to be an real ISP which they keep a tag. If they don't have any sort of control over LCO, I don't know how safe your browsing is. How are you even sure if the LCO is not injecting any sort of stupid scripts? (My thoughts).

I mean. LCO guys have so much power that Exctiel's Senior Support is asking for 24 hours of time to wait and LCO says "Taar kaat ker aaja aur band kerde" to his wire man (English Translation: Remove the wiring and close the connection permanently).

What sort of company Excitel is? Do you have no power to fix your infra. and your control over the LCOs?

With in one hour, My newly installed Excitel Connection is disconnected!

I hope Jio Fiber comes soon. I want to get rid of every ISP (Including Airtel who are the most pathetic and because of them only I have Hathway and I had to try Excitel today). Stupid ISP introduces virtual Fiber and names it Fiber Backend. VDSL is not even Fiber.

I was actually expecting reply from you there.

P.S.: I'm ready to give Excitel another try if you can assure me few things or at-least have my Local Cable Operator tell me truth of what he has and what he don't.

maybe the location itself might be slightly way to remote?
but then again then simply could have denied the proper service - although where are you from?

i have excitel too, lco is dumb in my area but still speed and connectivity is nice. although packet loss is real, NAT is real, i cant even change dns.

but it still get the basic things done nicely

Having Power backup at 1 Central Location is feasible and all LCOs usually are having it, but when not using FTTH technology, you need to have power backup not only at central location but throughout your entire network (in at least few locations along the way) and this is usually difficult to achieve in the environment in which LCO operates... messy and unstructured areas.

FTTH guarantees that power and weather related issues will be minimal, or close to zero.

I suggest to give it a try on Excitel Fiber when it becomes available in your area.
