no it won't coz it would not use your regular internet connections. i want choices. DTH appears to be very very disappointing. CAS users have their own issues. Airtel should be out with IPTV later this year in gurgaon. which i think is very late coz by then CAS would be implemented here in gurgaon and most people would either move to DTH or be forced to upgrade to CAS. if airtel launches IPTV today i had take it. as long as they are showing some of the popular channels i watch.
A friend of a friend is trying out MTNL IPTV in DLF, and apparently it's the same as CAS or DTH in terms of video/audio quality, but quite frequently it pops into a "Loading" screen - sort of like when streaming video buffers.. that's a bummer!
Yes, We do require IPTV to our entertainment portfolio. In India this may take a while for its introduction as the main bottleneck is the broadband speed. This will not slowdown the existing broadband connections(from BSNL) if they are implemented properly. It is surely going to replace the CAS and DTH, as the viewers who will get hooked to any contentprovider can watch his choice of movie any time. That is Video On Demand
