There is something about Johannesberg. The 438 high score by them is actually broken.
Max. 6's equalled 16 with Rohit Sharma.

Seriously the authorities need to go back to some old rules .. Like 5 fielders outside circle .. use of 1 new ball so reverse swing and spinners come to play .. Till date I feel best ODI knock was by Saeed Anwar which came against a decent Indian attack plus it was not so easy to play back then like it is now .. There is serious imbalance between bat and ball ...

I agree about the imbalance part. Not a big fan of the 194, simply because one could see that he used a runner for a large part & despite whatever they may pretend he was only tired.

Not a fan of that knock either bro since it came against us .. What I meant was atleast in those days there was some balance between bat and ball .. Reverse Swing , Spinners had some role .. Right now all that is out of the window ..

Well, its not that I dont appreciate opposition's effort. Anwar's 100 against India in 2003 World Cup will get more appreciation than the 194. Its just that, to me that 194 seemed a bit too contrived.

I guess ICC will be forced to revisit sometime down the line. But for now, as only purists seem to love low scoring thrillers, and runs seems to be getting them the crowds so they have let this continue this while. At the same time, its not that they havent tried - removing additional powerplay, allowing bouncers all seem to have helped reduced what could be a much worser carnage.
