Hey.
i just got a few fliers at home regarding ACT broadband, their website looks promising, blazing speed, good tariff. i was considering a shift from Airtel to ACT, wanted to know genuine feedback from their current customers.
Im presently on Airtel's 1299 plan, where i get 1mbps speed at day time and 2 mbps speed at night FUP is 80GB (i guess). Looking to shiftover to ACT's 1299 plan where i get 12mbps speed upto 80GB downloads and 2 mbps thereafter.
Im a loyal airtel customer since 7-8 yrs now and never faced any problems yet, wondering if it is wise to shift?
Need all your feedback.
Thanks

My only reason to shift is as i am a heavy torrent user.

I'd like to correct you. you get 10mbps till 75Gb and then 2Mbps unlimited for 1299+Tax.

yes thats right. anybody facing downtime etc? is it good enought or another marketing gimmick

hi, i am facing the same dilemma. i am also an airtel user for the past 7-8 years. but i am on airtel 999 plan, which is 2mbps until 20gb and then its 256k. i checked airtel's online plans and for rs.1299 plan it says fup limit 30gb, how are you able to get 80gb fup limit? the reason i want to shift from airtel is because of their ridiculus fup limits. i plan to go for act 999 plan, which has a much higher fup limit than airtel and post fup it says 512k. but i too would like to have some honest reviews. came across a few mixed reviews on this forum. ACT is currntly advertiing everywhere in my area (indiranagar)....but not enough reviews of Act as yet. if some more people could tell us about their downtimes, torrent caps if any? customer service etc... it would be very helpful.

i personally wish i had options like act or beam or whatever. i had take it. and keep airtel as a backup connection for a couple of months. 😕

As the Wiring is above aerial downtime will be there but minimal. may be 4-6Hours a Month.
Keep a 3G as a backup. That would be the best option. 🙂

Hey, I have good news for you. I joined this forum some time back when I shifted to bangalore. I was looking to get real broadband in bangalore, a change from my mts - which performs nice, for a data card, by the way. I came across ACT here, enquired from friends, and today I am an happy user. I only had a problem once - and their techie showed up in 3 hours flat, after i called their call centre. Got rectified immediately, as he told me i had inserted the wires wrongly in the wifi box.

PS: I took their 5mbps 75 gb plan for 1299 a month and paid for 3 months - for which, they freed up the installation. Awesome part is, I got an auto upgrade to 10mbps sometime back. And after a long wait, they've finally started accepting online payments too. THANKS broadbandforum.co.

I've been using Act for a month now with Airtel as a backup (and brings Airtel to its knees) and I must say, so far so good; I'm happy. All I'm hoping from the bottom of my heart is that Act continues to live up my expectations, Airtel will be drummed out soon.P.S. I don't really remember experiencing hardcore downtimes, about 5 mins couple days ago, or is it just me?
