How do i configure ACT Fibernets GPON device in bridge mode so that i can use Asus RT-68U as router.

Huawei GPON IP 192.168.18.1
ASUS Router IP 192.168.7.1

Problems faced

1. When configuring in Bridge Mode under WAN , ASUS router successfully connects and gets an IP but internet works on selected sites.
Check GPON settings in screenshot 5

2. ACTF installer configured it in TR069_VOIP_internet . check screenshot 1 . As soon as i change to this setting all sites start working.

3. ASUS router does not has VLAN setting , TR069,etc.

some more settings in asus router , pic1 , pic2

Another problem is when i connect Asus router as Access point to Huawei Router (LAN port of huawei to WAN port of ASUS ) it gets some random ip like 124.123.218.222

@aBs0lut3z33r0 The config in screenshot 5 looks correct, however could you please clarify what you mean by some sites don't work? What is the error message?
If I have to take a guess it would be something to do with the DNS resolver configuration. Perhaps you could just add custom DNS servers say Google DNS or Cloudflare DNS on the Asus device so that all clients use that.

So when you bind if you bind the VLAN as in screenshot 5 to one of the ports in your case LAN 1, any device you connect to that port would be part of that VLAN automatically, would be an untagged port. So you wouldn't need to configure any VLAN stuff on the Asus. However from the screenshot (2 — Postimage.org), the Asus does support VLANs if required. In your case that really isn't needed provided you give the correct VLAN when setting up the bridge profile.

Regarding getting a public IP address mentioned in the 2nd post, its probably in bridge mode and it gets a public WAN side IP address (which is actually great). The IP address belongs to ACT.

Regarding TR-069, yes it is used by ISPs to auto configure and manage devices, you could disable that if you want to.

Most sites won't open , except Google , Gmail , YouTube , Twitter and a couple of others. Sites like Amazon is extremely slow.

I tried changing the dns on Huawei, Asus router and also on system level. There is no error except that the sites won't open. I tried tracert on speed test.net and it resolves to it's IP. But the domain speedtest.net won't open in bridge mode.

The DEFAULT Router Wan configuration on Huawei is on TR069_VOIP_INTENET by ACT. I cannot change this to Bridge wan from the drop-down. The router gives an error that this profile cannot be configured in bridge mode. I have to delete the profile and configure it as INTERNET bridge wan mode. Both of the settings in router and bridge VLAN id is 10. The ASUS router does not has any such setting.

I tried cloning the Mac on Huawei to asus but it some problem perisits.

The worst thing is that the Huawei device has an upper limit of 32clients. I have many smart lights so it gets exhausted.

But it has right, 2 — Postimage.org the VID is the Vlan ID. That config is needed only if you bind multiple VLANs to a port, essentially in tagged trunk mode. I think you can omit that. The port on the Huawei would be untagged VLAN 10 if you set the VLAN in the bridge profile and bind it.

Regarding the sites not opening, would you mind opening developer tools of the browser and checking the Network (or similar) tab which shows the network requests being made and in case any of the requests are failing.

What is the output of a trace route to speedtest.net? Are you able to ping speedtest.net?

What IP address do you get allocated on the WAN side on the Asus (when in bridge mode) and on the Huawei (when in route mode)

The VLAN id field is mandatory . The settings wont apply unless a valid no between 1-xxx is input.

Correct, that's the whole point. You need to enter the same VLAN IDs that you use on the ONT side. Again, as I said, this is only needed if you have multiple VLANs for Voice, IPTV etc and you want to use a single port to carry the traffic from all VLANs in tagged mode (trunk). This is not applicable for your use case, I was just mentioning that the Asus does support it if you need it do. Notice the VLAN binding page in one of your screenshots, that's where you can bind multiple VLANs to a single port if needed.

1. DIFFERENT SETTINGS, CONFIGS and INFO IN Router WAN Mode (Service Type : TR069_VOIP_INTERNET)

Unfortunately , intenet is down so cannot post pics in bridge mode today

The screenshots look good from what I can see. The only point which is concerning is the ONT signal levels, the RX power is pretty less at -33 dBm, usually -27/-28 dBm is the lowest the ONT can detect. Maybe it's a false signal level too.

I can ping sites that are not opening and i can also tracert . I get the same type of IPs in bridge as well as router mode.

Also tried changing to ACT DNS from ASUS

From the screenshots I see that that you are in dual-wan mode, which is the other WAN configured? Also there is a second WAN IP (from the auto-configuration IP address pool 169.254.x.x), I wonder if that is causing any issues. Perhaps due to some mis config, the Asus is switching between the two WANs and that's causing issues for you. (The second WAN clearly doesn't work in this case). To rule out things, reset all other WAN config and have only the PPPoE WAN config active and maybe disable dual WAN for now.

I enabled the dual wan only yesterday , earlier it was disabled in my testing. I have reset the router a couple of times

The second IP appears also when in single WAN mode. I will try changing the router once but it's also an Asus n14u

ACT installer confirmed the acceptable value is -27dbm , he installed it on -30dbm which will be corrected later. Later it fluctuated to -33dbm.

Perhaps they are doing some sort of MAC binding? Did you try cloning the MAC address of the WAN interface of the ONT which makes the PPPoE connection (this could be different from the MAC address displayed on the UI for the LAN)?

One thing that caught my eye is the BRAS Name in one of your screenshots. Perhaps this needs to be passed on from the Asus device as well?

One thing is clear that it some sort of binding is implement by Huawei MAC+serial or something else.

I already tried putting the huawei mac printed on the back in Asus router. In Host-Uniq field i have tried SerialNo of HUawei and BRAS NAME as you said. I used an online converter to convert ASCII to Hexadecimal.

This weird behaviour also has something to do with their in DNS implementation. As soon i change to custom DNS in ASUS router the internet starts disconnecting. With Auto DNS it works with selected sites.

The ACT installer called one of the more knowledgable senior over phone during installation. He told that MAC binding + serial is present and he could help me with the router mode if i had a huawei device. My hopes were up when the ASUS router successfully connected
