Apple iPhone

We are little behind (as always) in 4G deployment, but once all major operators like Idea, Vodafone, BSNL starts deploying 4G, then it would become widely available and affordable as well. Though can't say how much speed we would really get, but it would be anyways better then 3G.
I think 3G failed because operators did not invested more in 3G infrastructure and also plans were never affordable.

How many years have gone pass with 3G launch? They could not deploy decent 3G network but you expect them to deploy decent 4G network.

So you buy 4G phones without using 4G?

So, you're buying phone because of its features. Right?
Well, I did not buy my Lumia 830 because it supported 4G. Same with many people who buy iPhone 6, Galaxy S6, OnePlus, etc phones which supports 4G, though not supporting existing Indian 4G bands.
But once more operator start 4G deployment (I guess by mid-2016) with global 4G bands, all phones I mentioned above would be ready for 4G usage.

I do not really need 20mbps on the move. I do not even have 20mbps at my home.

Its not just about compatibility. I have 3G phone but i don't find 3G connectivity at my home. At best a get GPRS speed.

And regardless, i don't want 3G because its unaffordable any way. Data is very costly on all telecom companies. Practically useless.

In India people want decent cars. Those who have money buy BMW/Mercedes even though these cars are not meant to run on our broken & filthy Indian roads. Same thing goes for Smartphones.

Don't you get 3G when you're out of home? Why stick to 2G then? Sure if 2G meets your current needs, then that's another thing.

3G is pretty decent in most cities.

Home needs are more or less covered by broadband, I guess.

4G on 2300 band is pointless. You go behind a piece of paper and range drops. 4g on 1800 band would be of some use.

3G is very bad in most cities. I have read various surveys & speed that people get on their 3G connection is far below promised speed.

Am I the only one thinking Airtel 4G coverage is better than their 3G in Chennai. I used k3 note for a week. Net connectivity was great.

Switched back to Galaxy Note 3( 3g phone) for other reasons. It's not able to latch on to 3g network when in office (goes to 2g).

There are 2 models of iPhone 6 plus. A1522 and A1524.

A1522 doesn't support TD-LTE and this model was being sold by flipkart last year soon after iphone launch in India.

A1524 supports TD-LTE and this model is what I got when I bought from Amazon in June.

So those who bought iPhone 6 from flipkart without checking which model they will get are now screwed.

Apple - iPhone 6 - View countries with supported LTE networks.

Don't worry. 80% of them would give their phone to a family member and upgrade to 6s in a few weeks anyways.
