Just bought 400ml PET bottle of thums up. Price is 20rs. Never knew they had PET bottles other than 600ml one and 1.2lt and 2lt one.
 
i love the 200ml bottle of thums up. i kept an empty one at my place few years ago because it is not easily available around here. more popular in smaller towns and villages.
 
Even me ..even finding a pic of it on net seems hard. Well i don't know the exact reason but they suddenly jacked up the prices of soft drinks. Earlier used to get 1.2Lt for 32Rs. Now 600ml sells for 29Rs. I guess their sales dropped so they've introduced 400ml for 20Rs.
 
i never understood why they need to hike the prices. i mean just follow the market conditions. summer is good time for business so have higher prices. sell the same at lower prices during winters. manufacturing cost of soft drinks is probably very low. i mean it is 99% water right? add some sugar and flavor and gas. i assume that most of the expenses are related to purifying the water which is anyways extracted from the ground water where the factories are located. of course, the marketing costs are very high. every brand has multiple superstars attached to them and the number of ads they have to run to keep the interest alive in their brand... we are essentially paying for the ads.
 
no ..atleast at my place ,the water board themselves sell water to these companies at very cheap rates. Like super cheap. like rs 2 per 100lts.
