Got a flyer inserted in the daily newspaper. CherriNet . Anybody heard of this? They seem to have service only in 2 Pin Codes in Chennai. Will try to get in touch with them and let you know how it goes.

Hi,

I applied for the connection on 11/07/15. 100mbps 75GB fup. They installed it just now. Good thing is they provide optic fiber cable to your home unlike act and you broadband.

CherriNet

Stepped out of the house to see my area flooded with placards stuck outside of every other house in my area of these guys saying 100 Mbps at 1499

Hi, what is your view on this? Is the speed really as they mention? And how was their service? I too got a flyer from them and have been considering to change to this.

Looks only kilpauk and Anna nagar for now. Seems very small range like 4-5 km radius..

Yes just Kilpauk and Anna nagar for now. There are many other services available for perungudi and omr area.

Is there anyone else who applied for this connection? Need some feedback...

Kindly could you tell the service available in Perungudi, Because BSNL and Tikona alone are available in my area.

I don't really remember except for one. Try Oodoo. I heard from my friend. You can also try Reliance.

Hi, using this cherrinet for past 20 days... Residing in Kilpauk area.... As they promised, speed is up to 80 Mbps when laptop is connected via lan.... And up to 35 Mbps when connected via WiFi.... Occasional signal drop is there which gets resumed by itself... Twice or Max thrice a day... 3 months rent has to be paid in advance

Too bad I just got Airtel.. Otherwise seems a decent bet. At least till too many users come and clog the connection

It's available in Kilpauk and Anna Nagar only for now... I just got connected on 24th July.... Max I have got on this late night for far is 50 MBPS, though they promised 100MBPS. I raised a complaint and they told me some work is going on and hence speed is slow. Entire day on 25th and 26th July I'm getting only 40 MBPS......

If they get it working.... I'm sure it's worth. They run a dedicated line for your connection from the nearest node. They run fibre till the ONU box inside the house which is good and hence I presume 100 MBPS is possible if they have the infra-structure to support as they add new customers. They run a dedicated line for your connection from the nearest node.

As usual, the sales executive gimmicks are there... sales team promised me connection within 36 hours but it took about 72 hours (3 working days) to get it going. So do not believe the sales guy as they do not know what's the effort involved from their technical team. I'm hoping they give 90+ MBPS speed always.... and I hope the service is as good as Airtel for complaints raised.

It's early days.... if any of you guys want some feedback, mail me on arunkumar11279@yahoo.com with subject line mentioned as NEED FEEDBACK on CHERRINET, I will respond... the sales guys who helped me was +91-9551178743 (Lokesh)

17th Aug 2015 - Wanted to give an update. It's almost a month and after the initial few days of slow speed, I'm contantly getting 80 MBPS and I also get 95MBPS max on many occasions. I have surrendered by Airtel Broadband connection and a few of my friends in this area also share the same feedback. If they can improve the customer service and keep updating the infra structure to sustain this speed in the current tariff structure, this seems to be a good option.

If any of you guys want some feedback, mail me on arunkumar11279@yahoo.com with subject line mentioned as NEED FEEDBACK on CHERRINET, I will respond...

I live in ANNA Nagar. In fact on the same street as the service provider.
Sorry to say a very poor experience. Promised 100 mbps hardly ever crossed 20.for the past few days it does not even work.
Guys do not think of this outfit till they get their act together. Very pricey too.
1499 per month for no service at all

I got a new connection from Cherrinet near to the anna nagar office. The speed is less than 25Mbps for the default server in speedtest.net and if i try for reliance server in Mumbai the speed is less than 10Mbps. The value from the OFC(Optical Fiber Cable) was less than 18, does it makes sense because according to them its a good value.

Will wait for one more month and cancel my connection. Please tell how to get back the refund. I request everyone to stay away from cherrinet......

I too got the flyer with the news paper a few days back. Yesterday, I saw the placard outside houses near Sai Baba temple in Shenoy Nagar.

I would like to know about down times. I'm used to 4mbps with Airtel and I think my connection can be upgraded to 8 mbps at best. I can get used to speeds like 40mbps or above. I'm only concerned about the down times with the non-Airtel ISPs. It doesn't look like ACT will come to Anna Nagar any time soon.
