Simply go to any of these two websites and type the name of the website you want to visit in the URL field

If you want to access flash based content like blocked video streaming websites or bypass P2P throttling, then go to-

There are even more FREE VPN websites if you could google "free vpn" or "free vpn trial" 😉

I tried Cyber Ghost which was my first experience with VPN, and it works like a charm 🙂Thanks a lot for sharing this.N.B - Most free VPN's I found has banned BitTorrent traffic. Is there any really free one's out there, which permits torrent traffic??

Or you could just use Tor https://www.torproject.org/

If you're a Chrome user, download the SwitchySharp extension otherwise in Firefox use the Tor Button to allow you to switch it on/off at will.

Waaaaaaaaaaay easier than dealing with these - and more secure. No signups, no trials, no BS, and frankly, I'd feel a bit more comfortable using some sites with Tor than any of these websites - you never know what they could be sniffing.

Getting this error while trying to access this page?

"You attempted to reach www.torproject.org, but the server presented an invalid certificate.
You cannot proceed because the website operator has requested heightened security for this domain"

Hearing about this for the first time. Ill probably dig around the WWW a bit more to learn about this..thanks for sharing..

Tor might be an easier way but it doesn't support p2p, flash and multiplayer gaming. VPNs are completely anonymous and work with all applications

Eg: Tor doesn't even work with Youtube!

It supports all of those things, actually - you just have to put the correct settings in your P2P client and web browser respectively. As for multiplayer gaming, you wouldn't *want* to use Tor anyway because it introduces significant amounts of latency which would suck if you're trying to play an FPS.

Tor is not intended to be used with video streaming and torrents. Please do not abuse their free service.

^^ what he said, don't abuse Tor project , it is community funded project with limited funds and tor devs have stated many times they will be forced to shut down if ppl keep abusing tor for p2p, it is not meant for p2p. Tor helps communication for ppl who behind strict censorship like china and middle east etc. many Tor servers have already been taken offline due to such abuse.

if you are downloading so much stuff for fee then spending 7 to 15 usd on a paid VPN is no big deal.

as for y.tube not opening on tor , many sites ban tor exit nodes so maybe you were on bad node .

btw here you go they give 300 mb free per day but no p2p .

No arguments with either of you, but the statement was made that it doesn't work.

It definitely does, even though the performance is rubbish by comparison to what I get by not using it, and there aren't many good reasons you *should* use the Tor network for streaming video or P2P, which, for the record, I don't, and I fully agree that it should not be used in this fashion.

However...

For the purpose of getting around blocks (and you really should add India to the list of highly censored countries) without using these silly freemium VPN services, I feel Tor is a much better option and I support it a whole lot more.

This is the original statement I was trying to make.

If it were worth doing, I'd add a Tor-exit node in my network but the upstream blocking in India would kind of defeat the purpose.

Subscribing to a paid-VPN and/or seedbox-like service should be equally good for those that really want to use P2P/video streaming, but this is limited to those that have that option.

i found this on torrentfreak earlier today. it is pretty cheap compared to HMA. of course i only get access to one location. might try them out next month. ANONINE

Sorry for being OT. Anyone have any idea what VPN or other service could be used for Android devices?

Almost every VPN service can be used on an android, you just require Gingerbread or a higher OS though.

Hello EverybodyEven though i don't face any restrictions from my ISP nor i am bothered about my privacy.Thank you for discussing about tor here.I already heard about it, But didn't know what exactly it is.Today only i took a deep look about it.

I started using tor recently. It is now displaying the websites in Dutch. I checked the Firefox language setting and its english. I'm guessing that it is accessing a server in Netherlands. How can i change it to English?
