BSNL in the North East : Worst Speeds

I am paying Rs. 15000/- per month for a 4Mbps UL commercial connection in Shillong Meghalaya & check out the speed I get https://www.speedtest.net/result/2148472266.png

No amount of visits to BSNL changes anything. Its like govt employee mentality we get our salary no matter we do any work or not, so if you dont like the speed, you are free to disconnect it.
Should I carry on paying for something which I do not get? Think I had enough, disconnect it and close shop...

@ x720 I have already complained on the above link you gave me since 1 week back & only after getting no reply thought of using this forum to find a solution. I guess they do not check complains with title " speed slow" as they may be getting so many of them or they just don't care. Here is the overview info from the Router I use.System Information Model Name AN1020-21 Firmware Version 10.4.3.12 Hardware Version Solos 4615 RD / Solos 461x CSP v1.0 System Up time 08:41:36s Internet Connection DSL Status Connected Downstream Data Rate 2048 kbps Upstream Data Rate 256 kbps DNS Primary 8.8.8.8 DNS Secondary 8.8.4.4 Max Att Downstream Rate 9596 kbps Max Att Upstream Rate 320 kbps SNR (Downstream) 32.0 dB SNR (Upstream) 31 dB Line Attentuation(Downstream) 21.5 dB Line Attentuation(Upstream) 13.0 dB Connected Standard G.Dmt I made the linesman to get me someone from the bsnl office today. He came with a laptop and checked the speed and agreed that it was slow. He told me that its no good to go for 4Mbps plan as you will never get that speed as the wires laid underground are old and bsnl does not have the infrastructure in place here to give that sort of speed. Now my question to him was why advertise a service if you do not have the infrastructure in place to deliver what you promise. So its just that we pay money for a falsely advertised service?

Also, post your line stats.

Well log your complaint in pgportal.gov.in under central govermenent department of telecom ..check your status their regularly , just contact your respected g.m continuesly..you need to waste 2 to 3 days visiting their respective office..

Or switch to airtel if it s available
Once side of the forum people are struggling for 8 Mbits airtel connection..

and the other side People are failing to get 4mbits connection in BSNL

EVEN YOU CAN TAKE THIS TO CONSUMER COURT BECAUSE YOUR ARE NOT IN UPTO 4 Mbps CONNECTION IT S EXACTLY 4Mbps connection

/sorry x720 i replied with quote on your post/
