Is Bridge Mode Possible in Reliance Jio Fiber?

Hello,

Got jio fiber in west delhi last week and working great till date.

Been using Asus RT-N18U and ACT Fibernet, i was able to get direct IP from ACT to the Asus router. With Jio this is not possible and there is no option for bridge mode or any sort as the settings in jio router is DHCP and no ID password or PPPOE sorts .

Now basically I want to use resources such as NAT, Firewall etc everything to be handled by Asus Router but because of no Bridge option I am not able to do that.

Has anyone found a way ?

I connected my TP-Link dualband modem with lan cable.
After that In tp-linkconnection selected to auto and it selected dynamic link.
Now i am using 5Ghz wifi and getting full speed.
Switched off 2Ghz signal in tp-link.

Even I've done the same way although not sure how does your answer solves the question at all 🤔

Using Asus rt n18u and connected 5ghz router to that as I just wanna use full possibilities of my asus router, need bridge mode.

What do you want from Bridge mode.
i don't exactly know what it is.
But why you need that for??

Do you want to connect multiple routers??

The possibilities are endless when JioFiber supports bridge mode.

In bridge mode, the (Jio) router acts as a bridge between the internet and our own router and acts as a normal modem. WiFi is disabled when using in bridge mode.

99% of the users don't know bridge mode. It is mainly for advanced users who want to use the full capability of our own router.

For example, I have a Mikrotik router that I can control from anywhere because my ADSL modem-router is used in bridge mode. I also have full control over everything behind my router, such as my powerful server.

If my ADSL modem doesn't offer bridge mode, I would have to use some complex forwarding rules in order to achieve some control over my MikroTik router or devices behind it.

Security-wise, if someone finds a loophole in Jio router, all users would be affected. When used in bridge mode, it is hard to identify what router I use. My router also gets regular security updates. Jio may send firmware updates too. But, we don't know if the update are for security or for bug fixes. As a company that wants maximum benefits, Jio wouldn't invest in finding or patching security loopholes. Of course, Jio router must be a rebranded version of another router. But, can we trust that unknown company or Reliance for securing users?

Router is the gateway to the internet. Data is the new oil for them. One can fetch data via router. If you tie everything together, you will know how dangerous the current situation is. Bridge mode is the only way that we, the users, can take some precautionary steps.
