loop will be big boost in the mumbai circle for any operator who buys it. but there are some big regulatory hurdles to be crossed

I think Sunil Mittal released a statement denying any plans to acquire Loop Mobile last week!

I just hope they leave Loop alone. Also, since airtel already holds a license to operate in Mumbai, is the acquisition even possible?

Deal get closed by nov, loop got no spectrum after that. No regulatory hurdle in this one

I think Loop will get only the value for its infrastructure and its HNW customers, which is what Airtel is after. Coz, anyway after Nov, all Loopers would have to port to some other operator.

No no one has to port, it will be done automatically all Loop numbers would be changed to Airtel. I'm only worried about the Phone Balance will it be transferred also have aroung 5K :worried:

DoT should have allowed Vodafone to take over Loop!

Because it was BPL earlier which was bought by Hutch except for Mumbai!

I don't think it is/was for the merged entity to hold multiple licenses in the same circle. Kind of something like Idea did with the Spice acquisition, iirc.

Yes, Vodafone (Hutch) was not allowed at that time to take over BPL Mumbai

What I mean is had they allowed it that time, this situation would have not come. BPL was dying in those days. And now this whole mess has arised just because of Mumbai circle being separate.

Actually axis bank is the loser here. Looking at the possible acquisition by Airtel for 700 crores, it paid 300+ crores to loop as loan. Now loop just paid back some 50+ crores only.
