Hi, Since 2nd Oct, i'm getting 2 Mbps speed continuous day and night on Turbo 1299 plan. Does anyone experience this too?

ohhh ur lucky, dont disclose such things here, if airtel cc people comes to know it might be back to ur original plan 😉 ok pjs apart.... may be this is airtels new policy that people exceed there unlimited? fair use policy* ( which is like limited 25 gb lolz. whats a joke by the name of unlimited 😛 ) and u start to get big amount bills. what a shame!!!

Me too getting 2mbps speed from today afternoon....The point i noticed with airtel is after a power disruption i get normally 2mbps speed surge in my connection for a while and then it goes back to normal speed...but today again i got 2mbps speed after the power disruption and still getting the same speed...I think airtel has some serious issues with their connections...I am not gonna complain as long as i get these speed increases...

@shanbhag1 In my case also the boost comes after a power surge and remains for days till I don't restart my modem. 😀

did u notice considerable speed drop in uploading? I get less than 512kbps for uploading when i am simultaneously downloading as well...if i stop downloading then uploading speed reaches 1mbps...strange!

yes I did notice that also...pretty strange

When you download at higher speed then a there is a lot of overhead towards the upload as well in the form of packet acknowledgments sent back by you. That is why for DSL is it recommended to keep the upload speed in P2P etc... at ~80% of max to allow room for the same.

I only keep upload limited to 10 kbps while downloading torrents. To be a good torrenter and not a leecher, I seed at max while watching movies and stuff so my surfing doesnt get slower

Ideally on 256Kbps you can set your upload at 240Kbps and still be able to get full download speeds, it is only when you have considerably higher download speeds do you need to keep a greater margin for the overhead.

Is the FUP policy only applicable during day time. I saw some threads which said their night speeds are not impacted even after crossing the FUP limits

no some of us are just lucky that we have not been FUP'd yet.
