After complaint on Friday, I got calls on Sunday but couldn't pick them up. Didn't expect them to call on Sunday. Anyway Speedtest result is ok now but still in some sites getting problems. I'm not sure if net is throttled. Maybe It is difficult to get an accurate result nowadays since ISPs selectively throttle. I guess file download might be good way. Or any other file download that you can get at full speed (not by peering).
 
ACT is nutty over banning almost every p2p site they can get their hands on, and looks like they monitor traffic too which site one is visiting as sites which were working fine for few days, in next 24hrs after discovering them they got blocked.

Also they add up lot of fake usage data already some threads are posted here..however they keep adding additional data at the same time to be in the news, they have added free 250GB data for cricket packs.

Never had an issue with torrenting on ACT. Always get full speeds!
 
Since I have to shift in next month and my Landlord is objecting to ONT, I am calling ACT for last 2 weeks but call going busy. Even wrote mail to nodal officer. Met their representatives while they were roaming around and told them, they called(or pretended to) call someone and then no one came. The ONT is secured by a lock, not by screws, which they never told me about. Didn't inform me before that it's not ftth and junction box will give connection to others, or they will put power connection to line instead of a plug. I just took the connection as installation was free. I am sure this is happening with upper management blessing.

Now if they are acting like such goons to secure ONT and their underling and upper management should be in on it, I am afraid they might also engage in things like selling data, monitoring data. How they blocked P2P sites was another evidence of that. I really don't find much reason to pick them over others, frankly Airtel 4G feels faster browsing to me. I'd have upgraded MTNL ftth or just continued with Hathway if I knew this would be such a problem.
 
Get a electrician and disconnect the power to it. A waste to them will come up themselves to collect.
 


Connection down since yesterday 2nd time in about a week, unexpected as connection is solid otherwise, was expecting it be resolved in few hrs like last time but did not happen. Since taking ACT these are the only 2 times connection has gone down.
 
also the fake data usage use to add up when I was using My router in PPPoe mode
I changed my Router to DHCP and its fine
you guys give a try
 
Found the problem. Auto dns were 8.8.8.8(google) as primary and 49.207.46.24(act) as secondary
changed to act one as primary and secondary as 8.8.4.4

8.8.8.8 is getting spiked latency for every alternate ping. while 8.8.4.4 is better is lower range.
ACT dns is lowest out of three.

working better now. feeling 100mbps even while surfing.
Act engineer saying to use below as DNS ? U tried ?

I have stopped using act now due to frequent fiber cut and long delay in solving each complaint.
But last was using primary as 8.8.4.4 and secondary as Act fiber one.
 
Ha ok, I also had same issue but they solved it, call from head office came.
 
I keep on receiving their calls once in while. "Saaar what was the problem? " Can't you read last tickets created before calling me.
Their support is lulu.
 
anyone knows how to get dynamic ip on act or change static ip on 183.XX series ?cloudflare creating problem on some sites with it !
