It remains one of my favourite albums till date. The 90s had some really good music. There was also Saajan from the Nadeem Shravan duo

Donno what nadeem-shravan were smoking those days.... but they produced some real good music in those times. Aashiqui is my fav album of those times....kumar sanu ftw !! ... oh good old memories. 😛

^ Yea, you know not everyone would like to work for free like you do!

Aah true I will never purchase movies , songs , softwares ( except for anti virus ) ..

Wow, Gt Dil Se songs @ Rs 39 & Pukar @ Rs 43 But Taal is bit costly 🙁

^^^^you must be referring to superhit muqabla which i think used to come on sundays. good old memories!!!@IMWow..Dil Se is one of my favorite albums,, one of rahman's best, even after 14 yrs those songs don't sound jaded or outdated. Out of the 6 songs on the album, i felt only "satrangi re"was not upto the mark, Rest were all blockbusters

from what i know music rights still account for a lot of revenue for the makers of the movie. songs are played all day long on multiple FM Radio stations. it still is a pretty significant business and that is the reason why catchy songs are more important than a good script. 😕

This movie would have made profitable money through sale of its music alone...

Aashiqui remains one of the most successful music albums (in terms of nett sales volume) EVER. The film itself ran into a silver jubilee if I remember right 🙂 Those were the days Mahesh Bhatt would make good movies. I still feel he is a good director, good for him that he realised he had lost interest in making films and gave up completely rather than make a fool of himself.

90s had some really good music. And almost all movies showed a love relationship blossom between a poor guy and a rich spoilt girl. Growing up on a regular dose of these movies I was in for a shock when no chick in university wanted to date an eternal broke lad like me. I blame the lack of female companionship during my adulthood to the 90s movies. Had I known how the world actually functions, I would have earned some money instead of growing chest hair and keeping long unkempt hair locks.

Also you must check Taal . I am amazed with the Sound Quality of Taal. It sounds superb in Dolby . Finally purchased that too. 😉 can't stop myself for Rehman songs.
