Reliance Communications (RCOM) and AFK Sistema have entered into exclusive discussions on a potential merger between the Indian telecom business of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd. (SSTL) and RCOM through a stock swap. The discussions are indicative and non-binding in nature, and remain subject to due diligence, definitive documentation and approvals, as may be necessary. There is no certainty that any transaction will result.

Heh. So this is the clarification to bse, I guess?

Should be interesting if the merger actually takes place.
 
i wonder if this includes their broadband services and can only hope that it would not mess it up any further :\
 

It appears that MTS will merge their wireless business into RCOM in return for a stake in the combined business.

Rcom doesn't run wireline separately, so apart from Sistema picking up a stake in rcom, there doesn't seem to be much change.
