Hi guys, I just was at Nero's site & came to know about Nero 6 Reloaded. Has anybody used it? How much space does it occupy on the CD & how much space on the hdd after expansion? Nero has been known as a memory hogger, is that still the case or it has improved? I've been using NERO 6 Burning ROM on an XPSP2 on an Intel 1.8ghz 128mbddr based solution without any issues. Does anybody 've any functionality/feature which makes it worthwhile to upgrade? Has the Disc Info tool been upgraded in any sense? Shirish Agarwal

i have no idea why it is necessary to download or install tools 50 megs big to write CDs 😀

yes, u're right Sushubh, The only issue is that one is used to these tools. Even though they are space hoggers they do the thing right. Just for e.g. I've a dual-boot system which on which K3b is there. I tried using that some time back & found that it doesn't respect dates on files. This is fine for media files but for softwares atleast of windows it's a strong no-no. The other thing which I've used quite a bit of Nero is the Info tool where I come to know how much more than the usual 700 mb data I can fit on the CD. If there's something better. Some better interfaces I would be happy to try it out. Of course one hopes that the software doesn't mess also with the drivers or anything like that. Any platform-independant ones would be also appreciated. So ready for change but would like to know something better if it provides same functionality.

i downloaded the application alcohol. it was just a few megs and did overburning fine... 😕 nero is excellent but it is somewhat becoming bloated. same applies to a lot of other applications though 🙁 with bigger hard disks and large RAMs... we are somehow forgetting that bigger is not always better... applications like Opera, IrfanView really impress me by what they manages to do in such small sizes.

I'm curious, you say you use a cybercafe but to take a program that big back to your computer you have to use a cd (unless you own the cybercafe or have a LAN connection to it). So does that cybercafe have a computer with a cd writer?

Hi guys, Yes. The cybercafe has a pc+writer solution. I've the trial version already on the cd. The issue is is it worth it or is something better around. For e.g. today I used gaim for IM otherwise had to use yahoo messenger, MSN messenger & ICQ. So 3 things gone for one client. Better interface & lower RAM needs & does it job. Let me know what u think

Hello all,I used to carry a USB Pen Drive whenever I visited Sify i-ways. I could download about 40MB per hour and copied them to the pen drive. But not all of the PCs had removable device access permission. 1 or 2 of them would have. When they were blocked, I had to hack into the system and enable it for my use !As for the Nero 6 Reloaded, I have been using it for months now. No significant improvement though. Some bug fixes, some new features and stability. Hmm... Nero is getting Bloated day by day... !If anyone needs crack for nero 6 reloaded, plz email me !Sorry, no such things on this forum.

Dhus Bhai!What r u saying ? :lol:U can get a good Transcend 256MB USB2.0 Pen drive for Rs. 1500-1600 only !

exactly! my requirement would be a minimum of 1 gig pen drive. friend going to hong kong next month... will get myself 2 of these 😉
