India Post Updates

i want to know one thing does india post now calls the addressee before delivery in case of difficulty in finding address or addressee not found at home?
 
if the no is available on the envelope , then the postman might give a missed call

in my case , i have the postman number saved , if there is some post for me , he calls to see if am available

but india post doesnt , only the postmans do , provided the guys are nice
 
i did not get any call. i usually am not on the ground floor to pick the delivery. but for my package, i picked it up. and was pretty frustrated to see an old man on a bicycle with 3-4 packages tied at the back of his cycle.
 
thats a bad thing to see ,

but how are getting packages thru IPS from Amazon ? i never get any thru IPS , its always amazon delivery service
even my town has amazon delivery service , but how come u dont
 
There are deliveries In millions in a month these days, all can't be done via Amazon service, so work is distributed.

Ips would be dead if they didn't do this
 

yes because they couldnt say no to indian government based institution , and it reduced overload too , a delivery is a delivery no matter what ,its still some kind of load

how many slice bottles u ordered anyway ?

may be Amazon is using IPS for large cities like urs and sticking with amazon delivery for towns like mine
but the amazon delivery guys says , he delivers upto 100 packages in town per day

I got my laser printer delivered through india post almost last day of the estimated date of delivery.
And one AC stand was delivered after 1 week of estimated delivery. too bad service by india post.
