recently i am using a 128k night unlimited package but frequently around 1pm or later sify's sam server stops responding.neither cto nor cc is available at night ,then after 3 to 6 hours later sam server starts responding again,so sombody knows about these things=1=is there only 1 sam server specific for a certain area2=can i change my sam server, because there is an option in easy sify for it3=if it can be changed , what are ip's of sam serversthanks for any info

yaa it happened all over mumbai on 27th the service was down from 1am to 5am asked them on phone they told me that some Maintenance work is going on.customer care is available 24x7 now i was shocked when they picked up the phone at 3am

I too used to notice my Sify SAM server stop responding very late at night everyday about a month back when I used to stay up till late night, and it would become okay after a few hours. Such crappiness from Sify, they start night packs and their servers go down at night itself.Sorry to inform you but you can only use that SAM server which has been assigned to you. The option in Easy Sify is useful because all of us don't have the same SAM server IPs, so we could fill our corresponding SAM IPs in there.

Oh gee, so they carry out their maintenance work at night, every night huh? And what are night pack users supposed to do? The time they have paid for to use the internet gets eaten away by circumstances totally in Sify's hands.

No i can use 202.144.58.41 and 202.144.58.38 for Delhi only Best is to type in 202.144.65.70:8090....it will redirect u to ur SAM server

Yeah it depends on individual cases really. I could use (maybe still can) 202.144.58.38 and 202.144.58.37 as SAM servers. But sometimes I feel all these IPs belong to the same server/ set of servers. Maybe we could test the other SAM IPs when one is down and confirm.I also feel 202.144.65.70 sits on the same server as the SAM server because once when the SAM server was down, I found 202.144.65.70 to be down too.

202.144.65.70:8090 is the global ip which forwards us to our respective SAMs. You cannot just use each others SAM Ips across diff statesI can use 202.144.58.41 and 202.144.58.38

My area is lucknow and sam server is down approximately every 3rd day ,now i will try other ips when it is down

Really you can have at maximum around 2 SAM IPs, if that at all too, to choose from. What you can try is get your SAM IP from the BBand.ini file in your Sify dilaer installation folder, keep the first three octets same (numbers seperated by dots in the IP), and try IPs by changing the last octet around the vicinity of your designated IP.For eg. my SAM server is 202.144.58.38 so I once tried 202.144.58.30-40 and found that 202.144.58.37 works for me too.

well mine sam just changed yesterdaywas without internet for one whole daydon't know why its now 210.18.11.6earlier it used to be 202.144.58.36

BBand.ini is just a text file which is writable. The SAM server IP is fetched everytime you start the client from 202.144.65.70:8090 as an XML file. BBand.ini must be periodically updated from this information.By the way while writing this I am checking my BBand.ini and my SAM IP has been changed to, it's now 210.18.11.5. Was 202.144.58.38 just yesterday heh. And speed seems okay here.

Mine is changed to 210.18.11.6Speed is good, but connectivity of the linux client is as bad as before, I think thats a problem with 202.144.65.70 ...
