I plan on starting to work out soon and wanted to get some smart device which can track the progress automatically on my OPO mobile. I know that there are some wearable watch etc kind of devices but an online research isn't helping much.

Please recommend a good wearable device for fitness tracking with the following features:
  • Hear Rate Monitor / Calorie Burning indicators
  • Distance / Speed calculations
  • Enabling Hourly / Daily / Monthly tracking
And are there any other tracking benefits on the devices that you may recommend

I have been on the lookout for something similar but the pricing is so close to Android Smartwatches in India that I just cannot get myself to go for them. Amazon has a wide range of devices from a bunch of companies including models that are compatible with Strava which can feed data to Google Fit.

I see that you have already researched enough then...
Which device according to you is the best investment in terms of Price to Features / Performance base

not a clue man. strava is apparently the most popular app amongst the cycling group i follow and they have their own recommendations here:

Strava — Devices

Few of these are available through Amazon and possibly other sources. I am not ready to invest because I want to stick with Google Fit which already does a pretty good job without any third party accessory for distance traveled. Personally I am not much concerned about my sleeping habits or pulse rate while cycling or walking 😀 right now. None of the smartbands appear to be directly supporting Fit right now. Android Wear devices do support Fit. I am personally waiting for a smartband that works with Fit. Most bands usually have their own apps. On iPhone they are likely to connect with Apple HealthKit. But not much interest in Google Fit on Android devices yet.

what i am trying to say is that you need to decide on what kind of exercises you are going to focus on and which mobile apps are best for it. it is just a bad idea to get a smartband and use its proprietary app that might not export data for unified platforms like HealthKit or Fit. so start by installing google fit on your phone and see if it alone suits your needs (it is very good at detecting walking and cycling data for me) and then check out other apps like Strava, Runtastic, Runkeeper and others and then find a device that works with it.

which bicycle are you using ?

Right. I am tempted to test with the imported unit of Xiaomi Mi Band which is available through Amazon for Rs. 2000 but as Navjot pointed out that it is probably fake. And even if it is not, it is highly overpriced considering the official price is less than 20 dollars. Smartwatches are very badly priced in India especially considering how fast they are getting outdated. Apple is likely to do well just because there is likely to be a 12 month gap between progressive models.

After due considerations I've narrowed down to two devices:
1. Garmin Vivofit Fitness Band for Rs. 5499 on flipkart + Heart Rate Monitor for Approx 6k from eBay GEB. Total is approx 12k
2. Moto 360 for 18k

Moto 360 makes sense because it'll include a Fitness Tracker along with Heart Monitor + one of the best smart watch around
The Garmin Vivofit however offers superb battery life [lasts for over a year] but the heart rate monitor has to be worn separately and is not a typical smart watch

What's your take or are there any other alternatives for around the same price ?
