kya khujlee mach rahi hai inhe?

One of the major grouse that people had with Fiat before its JV with Tata was that its service network was poor. Fiat expected that with the JV, that issue would be resolved. It was, but a new and bigger one cropped up.

Tata was promoting its own vehicles over Fiat's. Not just at the dealer end. By launching various versions of Indica, Indigo, Manza and Aria, Tata not only directly competed with Fiat's Punto and Linea, but also prevented Fiat from bringing other newer models to the Indian Market. Not just that, Tata's deal with Jaguar also meant that Fiat could not bring in any extra-premium cars to the Indian market.

Tata on the other hand upped its stock by advertising its JV with Fiat as a means of improving its own cars technologically and also using Fiat engines and drivetrains on its products.

My advice to Fiat is to have a totally separate new network, get Alfa Romeo and Ferrari superbrands to India and have a joint dealer-service network. Only then can their poor brand image get a makeover and they can succeed.

as an owner of a fiat car i can safely say that fiat has still not fixed the shit at their own end. the build quality of their cars is just slightly better than tata cars. forget coming near to maruti or hyundai or other companies. my experience with tata service centers getting my fiat car serviced has been horrible to average. fiat needs to do a lot more to attract more people to their cars. but the way they keep on changing their business strategies is not helping anyone. i mean now that tata is not going to sell fiat cars, i imagine tata service centers would give even crappier treatment to fiat owners 😕 i mean fiat has not made any statement about exclusive service centers right? they just talk about opening new dealerships. my service is due in july. i doubt they would have a dedicated showroom here in gurgaon. forget a dedicated service center. i hope it gets treated well at tata service center.and yes. instead of getting a feeling that you own a car from a company that also own ferrari and alfa romeo, you get to deal with people serving tata indica which consist mostly of cabs and taxis.

Since the JV that they are ending dealt with both sales and service, I assume that Fiat would set up new service centres too. All the best with your service in July! Can't help but feel bad for a brand I sort of admire. (Similar to what's happening to Ferrari on the F1 track!)
