right. i am not going to beg you to stay. i did not spam your website or mail id to come here. right now i am facing this bad problem of a spammer named gaurav hitting my sites with his airtel page. i do not understand why people think posting same thing 50 times will help them.

Windows 98 is unstable but not unsecure . A unpatched windows xp/2k computer is far more dangerous than a windows 98 .. Windows xp has lsass/rpc/dcom and whole range of vulnerabilities that can give someone control of your pc in not more than 30 seconds !!!!! As of windows98 it has many dos exploits but none of them give u a shell directly ( as far as i know ) compared to xp/2k lsass rpc,dcom vulnerabilities . Its just the way windows NT family is designed keeping many remote administration features and permissions ( which are absent in 98 ) .

And i didnt consider IE in both the cases . Coz unpatched ie is surely getting u in trouble no matter which windows u use 😛 .

Well as far as i have seen agnivo007 has helped people on this forums many times regarding bsnl queries and networking stuff which encourages people to be more involved in the forums .. So i dont think it is right to show him way out 😛

he is definitely helpful 🙂 that is why i do tend to survive many of his insanities... but when he goes overboard... i did some insane things. the point is... u gotta ignore the moderator and concentrate on fruitful discussions. 🙂

Can I have the link again for Outpost ? Also which Firewall should I finally install - Outpost or the Personal Firewall of Sygate which you reco few days back.

I use Sygate PF in windows, it works well for me. I had tried outpost long ago, it was good, but lacked somethings that Sygate, ZA and Kerio provided.For the ultimate in features, try Kerio personal firewall.

Sygate is feature rich.Outpost is a bit simpler and less feature rich and so good for newbies.Anyway, stick to sygate! :lol:

Yes, as far as I have seen, Sushubh and me both are insane when in rage !Anyway, I am sorry for the little "overboard" actions if the members need any explanation from my part. Actually, one dosen't know the limits unless he practically finds it out.As for the insanity, after my ban, I kept on changing bogus ids and Sushubh was alerted. So he blocked traffic from DataOne!!! But he realised what he had done and rectified it.But now there is a different scenario : we are not against each other !!! :lol:

well i knew what i did when i blocked the entire dataone ip range from accessing this forum. the point was to stop you from making a whole range of stupid user ids. after a couple of hours, i removed the blockage.

Now Sushubh, do u agree with my last sentence ?Well u may ignore that, but its an initiative from my part seeking ur friendship...

of course you are not. this forum was started with the aim of providing a platform for the broadband users to discuss their problems coz none of the other indian forums did that 😉

Yes sygate is good but r u sure that Outpost os less feature rich !!!! Out post has best rule system (better than sygate ) and lot more gr8 plugins like ddos protection mac blocking which sygate doesnt have at all .

Proffessional version of outpost is lot and lot more feature rich than sygate .

But yeah sygate rocks too !! It can block simple exploit programs of well know vulnerabilities b4r it hits you and signature updates are all you need .

Do you guys know BSNL Modem that is MT880 has a built in hardware firewall which you can configure easily and that is far far better then any software firewall solution out thereI am sure you all guys must be knowing thisjust my 2 centsPeace !!
