Hello folksFinally getting a 'broadband' connection after years of waiting 😀 BSNL has a franchisee who is handling installation, support etc. Deal looks OK, unlimited 128kbps @ Rs. 600/- p.m.They are suggesting a Beetel ADSL Modem 110BX which apprarently costs approx. 1000 bucks. Just needed to confirm a few things about this modem1) Does anybody have experience w.r.t quality, warranty and compatibility with BSNL. Are there any other better and equally affordable options that I should look at?2) Can this modem be configured to be kept 'always on' by a wireless router that will enable me to have a VOIP connection (like Vonage) or accessing the net from my laptop; without keeping my PC/desktop on3) Any other pitfalls that I should look out for - not just limited to this modem but while going about the connection in general .....Many thanks in advanceCheers. The beetel modems does not seem to have Advanced Setup/DiAGNOSTICS/MANAGEMENT OPTIONS.
MY bEETEL 220bX HAS only DEVICE INFO/DSL/WAN/LAN/PASSWORD/DSL SETTING/REBOOT.
I CANNOT USE IT FOR PORT FORWARDING ETC.
Better to buy UTSTAR -300r2 ( only single RJ45) or higher model. having usb output also.
