HI THERE I NEED TO GET AN INSIDER'S (EXISTING COSTUMER'S) INFO ABOUT BSNL DATAONE IN BANGALORE. ARE THERE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CONNECTIONS?HOW IS THE COSTUMER SUPPPORT?WHAT ABOUT BILLING , DO THEY CHEAT YOU ?HOWS THE MODEM WHICH THEY PROVIDE DOES IT COME WITH A GURANTEE?HOWS THE SPEED ?for bangalore folks :is it the best broadband service in bangalore? is not which would u recomend?thanks.

using all capitals wont make it any more easier for us to read what you want to say...

Raceryan,

BSNL DataOne throughout the country is the same.

Till June 30th, their unlimited 256k plan is the best for those who signed up by mar 31.

(Edited later: Not anymore. With service available in some areas of Bangalore , Exatt.net is offering 256k data plans for less than BSNL. Plus Exatt service is unlimited with NO data transfer charges)

http://www.exatt.net/schemes.htm

It makes NO sense to take BSNL plans now. Rate per MB is just sheer nonsense.

ARE THERE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CONNECTIONS?
HOW IS THE COSTUMER SUPPPORT?HOWS THE SPEED ?[/b]

BSNL customer service is zero(barely tolerable). Uptime and data speed is pretty good. Downtime has been minimal so far.

HOWS THE MODEM WHICH THEY PROVIDE [/b]

Buy your own. You get the D-Link DSL-502T modem-router with ethernet and USB for max. Rs 2500 with 1yr warranty. BSNL charges the same with installation for their UTStar/Huawei modems. These have only ethernet. No USB. Other features/specs are the same.

So after mar 31, special offer got over, it makes No sense to sign up with BSNL and pay for data transfer. Similarly continuing with BSNL after June 30 when their unlimited plan ends is also a waste. BSNL needs to come out with new plans/offers quickly.

Check

Exatt.net

128k plan for Rs 475 (Rs 3700 annual)
256k plan for Rs 720 (Rs 5600 annual)
512k plan for Rs 1400(Rs 10,950 annual) ---> *BEST* 512k for Rs900, Unlimited

or

Reliance Infocomm.

128k plan for Rs 750
256K plan for Rs 1200

or

Airtel

128K plan Rs 900 (plus FORCED voice plan Rs 250minimum) -- 1150

on the good side, airtel phones are better than bsnl phones and comes with customer support that normally works. 🙂

Hmm...then how is BSNL the leader in landline connections ?Go for DataOne at all costs!

how old is airtel compared to bsnl? mobiles have taken over landline phones in the areas with decent density of educated people. bsnl is losing customers with their telephone connections so badly that they had to resort to 500 rupee broadband to get some new customers.btw, does bsnl offer broadband without a telephone connection?

Racerryan,

The best rates in India and with service in Bangalore is Exatt.net . Just checked out their website today. Exatt is an ISP from Mumbai with 310MBs of international bandwidth through Singapore via a gateway in Chennai on the i2i fiber of Airtel and national backbone from Powergrid.

256k, unlimited for Rs 5600 per year or Rs 720 per month.

512K, unlimited for Rs 10,900 per year.

They have started service in Bangalore with Jayanagar,Indranagar etc. covered.

Félicitations ! Votre domaine a bien été créé chez OVH !

Give us your feedback after talking to them.

So in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Bangalore after June 30th, it makes sense to sign up for Exatt on the monthly plan, check them out and if its fine, get an annual plan and say Bye!Bye! to BSNL's Dataone.

Exatt will soon start service in Chennai as well 🙂

Check out this thread on Exatt for a current users feedback.

Agnivo007,

Is it you? Why are you getting suspended? 😛

Hmm...specs of exattnet are good.[/b]

Yep. Specs look tolerable.(minimum 1GB of intnl bandwidth is OK. Rest of world ISPs are already in TerraBytes!) But only one user has posted feedback till now. Hopefully more forum members from Mumbai /Pune/ Bangalore will check with other customers of Exatt and post so we get a clearer idea of their quality of service.

Racerryan, do a thorough job of checking Exatt in Bangalore 😀 and posting your feedback . Vishalrao, your report from Pune/B'lore is also awaited 🙂

But not available in kolkata till date[/b]

Not available in Chennai as well. Very strange that they have not yet started service ,where they have their international gateway 🙄

Yes videshi laloo, its agnivo007.Hmm...rules are there in every land. 🙄 But I find myself alienated in this strange land, which is getting stranger to me day by day! 🙁 Anyway, I will not leave this land even if it appears strangest to me... Lifetime VISA at India discussion Forum...granted by Sushubh! WOW !

hey, did 007's post about bsnl pricing/limits get deleted? why? what was in it?! 8-Pdamn, does exatt really offer unlimited 512k at 1400 (or 900) per month?!?!if true, and if they're really in indranagar, then i'm switching TODAY! heheedit: oh, i saw my other topic about the ban hehe... too much BC/MC going on eh? 8-Pbest way to get banned -> tell the mod "Sify Rocks" ! that should do it

if sify rocks for certain people. i do not think it would make me go mad. i would have more concerns abt the condition of that guy who thinks sify rocks. there have been people here who claimed that sify worked for them. my response was as simple as it should be...good for you....... 🤔
