Disney+ Hotstar revises its VIP subscription price

Disney+ Hotstar VIP offers everything in Indian languages from Movies to Hotstar Specials, Disney titles that are dubbed in vernacular languages, and Live sports.

Based on the Twitter inquiries, the price hike seems to have rolled out on Friday. The subscription price is randomly varied between Rs 499/ Rs 599 from user to user. However, there is no confirmation on what basis the price is being randomized. OnlyTech independently verified the same on multiple devices and the subscription price is varied between Rs 399/ Rs 499/ Rs 599 across devices.

A Disney+ Hotstar support representative in response to our query stated, “Yes. The price for Disney+ Hotstar VIP is revised and therefore you will see the new price on the payment page.”

I myself am seeing two prices at different points. What kind of lottery mode is this.
 
I got the All-sports of 299 a couple of years ago before Disney took over things. Its being auto-renewed with complimentary upgrade to VIP.
My nephew also got the VIP pack some time ago - So it may not be as unusual as well.

The problem with complimentary/tie-ins is that the moment you want to switch service you are likely stuck with those services not being available. Or you need to keep doing a higher recharge (I think?)
 
It looks like all those people who got Hotstar VIP through various Broadband plans can now upgrade to the Premium plan. It was prohibited till last year, if I remember.
 
Any idea how to delete Credit Card from Hotstar. No option to delete Credit card in app. On website also we can update, but not delete.
From last 2 years, my Hotstar subscription is automatically getting renewed by charging Rs. 999. This time I wanted to stop subscription and use VIP which I got through Airtel plan. But 2 days back it automatically got renewed.
 

Nah its outright bad. On the TV Android app you can turn on stats. 1080p stream w/o HDR has a bitrate of 3-4Mbps.
Which when compared to Netflix 5Mbps VBR for 1080p doesn't look so bad, but the Hotstar quality is miserable.
 
@sanketkashyap Cancelling membership would cancel my Premium plan?
Just 2 days back my Premium plan was renewed. I will try after 11 months. Need to put reminder about that for next year 😀
 
@SVK no, you current subscription will remain activate. You will get message on your registered number that your account subscription has been cancelled effective from your plan ending date.

Since you are charged 999, I presume you will be charged 1499 if in future you want Premium.

P S. I too am being charged 299 as I had opted for all sports plan and not 399.

Thanks for clarification. Let me try.
Its just that due to data leaks happening everywhere, I am removing Credit card saved from all platforms, except Paytm. I am linking PayTM everywhere instead of Credit card.
