Those with 40 MBPS speed, make sure they gave you a DOCSIS 3 modem. DOCSIS 2 supports only 38 MBPS which is why you maybe hitting that limit.

I got 100 MBPS in Pune today. The SpeedTest ended before I could hit 100 but I went up to 80 which is good enough.

I live in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. I took this plan 2 months back. I am consistently getting 90 - 93 mbps download and upload on speedtest. I am able to stream 4K on my samsung tv without any problems. 4k youtube vids also no problem. Streaming content has been a wonderful experience. But when i download something from a website, i get only 10 - 15 mbps as download speed. Torrents sometimes reach 30 mbps. Is anyone facing similar problems ?

THe problem is with MB and Mb.
MB = MegaByte, Mb = Megabit.
In speedtest.net, speed are in megabits per second, where 1byte = 8bits.
So your speed is 100 megabits per second. But browser and torrents show speeds in megaBYTES per second, so it is 1/8 of actualy value.

If you get 93mbps speed test, you should get 11.625 MBPS in chrome / torrents, so 30 in torrents is DAMN good. but just to confirm post a screenshot of a popular torrent. Also in speedtest.net, go to settings, and change megabits to megabytes and then do a speedtest. please post your results here!

Hi poiasd,

I totally understand the difference between Mbps and MBps. Let me rephrase my question.
I get around 93 mbps/11.625 MBps in speedtest.net, but i only get around 30 mbps/3.75 MBps while downloading torrents. Why such a big difference between speedtest.net and actual downloading and if anyone else on this plan is facing similar problems.

speedtest.net results

Mb/s
