Folks, I desperately need some help.

I've shifted houses and am in the process of moving from MTNL Triband ADSL to Spectranet FTTH.

I own this D-Link Wireless ADSL Router:
http://fkrt.it/RHKuOYNN

It has an RJ-11 WAN port and four RJ-45 LAN port. For FTTH, an RJ-45 WAN port is required. Is there a way to convert the LAN port into WAN and continue using this router? The Spectranet installer has flatly refused.

To complicate matters, I don't own a PC anymore. I have a Xiomi MI3 and an ancient iPad 2. The wife has an office laptop but without admin rights.

I spent Rs2500 on this router just last year and I hate to see it go waste. Is there any way of saving it? Please help! I'm a complete networking noob.

Any tips, pointers, help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Edit: I just received a msg saying I've been awarded a "sufferer of MTNL" trophy. This is to clarify I'm NOT an MTNL sufferer. I would have happily continued with MTNL if not for the fact that it's not available at my new location

Nope. You need to buy a new router - the one you have is a Modem+Router combo which doesnt work with FTTH. Buy a cheap TP-Link one for 1k odd and it should work perfectly. Probably you can sell this one off on Quickr etc

I wonder, why would you need a router ? Is your FTTH provider not supplying you with an ONT (CPE) which works as a router?

The apartment came with an ONT box from which the internet, intercom and DTH connections come. But I've been told I need a separate router.

I found this on the Trikona forum: Will something like this work with Spectranet?
