Reliance Communications (RCom) has launched a new data network, which promises to deliver faster and uninterrupted browsing experience. Called the Pro 3, the new RCom data network gives speeds up to 14.7 Mbps.

RCom's Pro 3 data network has gone live in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. It plans to roll out the network in other cities soon. Apart from high speed, RCom is also offering an 'Unlimited' monthly data plan at Rs. 999. However, there's no word on minimum guaranteed speed under the new initiative.

Coming soon in Delhi and Mumbai as well.

Apparently Unlimited Data means - 40GB. Post that speed will be 144kbps.

lol. The article is full of BS. Rcom always had fibre linked towers and they've been shutting down CDMA sites for quite some time now. I doubt they're actually investing anything at all in their network currently.

Also, that tariff page has been there on the website for quite some time now. I guess they've done away with the FUP with this announcement. Doesn't bode well for their network though...

On what technology is Pro 3 based? GSM/CDMA?
Will it have same high speed throughout day?
I have Tata Photon Plus which has good speed at Night (11 PM to 7 AM), but after that, speed is very slow, and many times it will not connect.

Ok. So its CDMA based as well. I wonder if it will have same (good) speed throughout daytime.
When spoke with CC for Tata Photon about low speed, they admitted that speed is low during peak time and they are upgrading their system to handle more traffic, but not sure if it is really happening 🙂

From what I've observed here:

Reliance cdma has low signals in most areas. But evdo is present everywhere. Speed varies between 1-2.5mbps on Revision A. Speed does not change with time ie is more or less constant.

Tata CDMA has great signal strength. However, quite a few areas don't have evdo, so that kinda sucks. Even with full signal speeds hover around 0.5 Mbps in many areas. A few places get 2-2.8mbps, including my house. Speeds rise to 2mbps in said 0.5mbps areas at night, post 12 am. Revision B gives around 4mbps.

This is what I've encountered in the Mumbai circle so far.

Man me too..being on MTNL 3G for past 3 years..wouldn't mind to shed 300 bucks less for this
.if it really is worth..
