Hi, I applied for bsnl broadband and landing on 29-sep-2014 and i got my landline connection on 20-oct-2014
and after 2 days got my broadband activated on 22-oct-2014. I have got "BBG Combo ULD 2799##" plan. I bought my own modem and got telephone from bsnl. Today i received message on my cell phone that" my number has been billed with RS. 5252 on 1-NOV-2014 and due date is 27-NOV-2014".

I have no idea why they charge me 5252rs for a unlimited plan of 2799rs to clear telephone billed is not fixed and i have not made a single call. And it has not been yet 30 day to get my connection activated then why they sent me bill before 30 day.
I have added all the nessary screenshot please somebody tell me whats wrong here. Did bsnl charge me for only 10 day period. Please explain briefly what i should do now.
Here is screenshot of my bill.

well they have taken a month's rental as security. this is common to all plans. the first bill looks super inflated as a result. it was the same case with me.

on the bill it say invoice period 20-oct-2014 to 31-oct-2014. Is not it mean they billed me only for 10 days beside 30 days? and i already deposit 500rs as security and my 30 day complete on 20 Nov, still 9 days left then why they give me bill before completing one month?

And what recurring charges they added in my bill 915.48rs.

The one month security is refundable (I am currently trying to get a refund of mine after I got my connection disconnected few weeks ago). BSNL billing cycle is from 1st so they sent you a bill for the 10 days. next bill would be for the whole month. @x720 should be able to explain the bill in complete details but the point is that this is expected with bsnl. it happens with almost everyone who gets their first bill from bsnl 😛 first bill looks inflated.

from the looks of it, they charged you 750 for landline installation. 500 as basic security. 300 for telephone instrument? 2799 as security which is one month rental and additional 250 for broadband installation. in addition they charged you around 900 rupees for 10 days prorata for the previous month. this comes to around 5500. add taxes and other stuff. minus what you have already paid to them. looks alright.

So is it mean that according to BSNL its my second month of service and they will sent me next bill of invoice period 1 nov 2014 to 31-nov-2014 but i wanted to change my plan so if i change now then will they change it next month after 30 nov or right now and if they change right now then for what plan they will charge me which i will recive for invoice period 1 nov to 30 nov. It is already 11 nov today.

you would get next bill for the entire month of november next.
you can change your plan once a month i think at any time. though my local bsnl exchange guy told me that i can change it multiple times. i cannot confirm.
your plan change would happen in 2-3 days depending upon how efficient your local exchange is.
your bill would charge you for both the plans on a pro-rata basis. but the bill would still come for november 1 to november 30.

BSNL bills are always counted for a whole month. You took 2799 plan. You were charged for 10 days. 2799/11=993.11 but somehow it is
915.48 + Taxes=1152.24
You were charged for Land Line's Installation(750) and Security Deposit(500) and Broadband's Security(2799) and Installation(250) leading to a toal of 4599.
Add 1152.24 and subtract 500 you paid it leads to 5252.

So when i will discontinue BSNL service then will they return me total amount Broadband's Security(2799)+500=3299rs. Am i right?

And is telephone installation charge is refundable? 300+750 = 1050rs

And 2799/11= Is not equal to 993.11 it should be 245.45

2799 is definitely refunding to the best of my knowledge. not sure about 500 but it should be so considering they are already charging for installation and hardware. from what i have read, refunds are not automated. you have to clear your dues and then file an application with the accounts department. and then visit again after a month or two to get your cheque. i filed my application few days ago and am now waiting for a month to pass before enquiring about my refund :russianroulette:

Ok i think i understood how they calculated this bill. Thank You For IT

Now i am confuse should i change my plan or not, I want to change my plan 1750 vdsl 8mb/sec till 30GB then 512kb unlimited from 2799 4mb/sec till 30GB then 2mb unlimited because i see that after crossing 30GB limit in my 2799rs plan my speed did not reduce to 2mb/sec it might be because then next month started before reducing speed and i thought if get 1745rs plan then my speed might not reduce after crossing 30GB 🙁
So i should not be happy. What do you think will my speed reduce in 1745rs plan after crossing 30GB.

from what i have been told, when you change plan, you get the full bandwidth of the new plan. i have not personally checked this. there is a possibility that you get the pro-rata bandwidth of the new plan.

and bsnl fup is reset on the first of every month and not in the middle of the month.

Ya that is what happened in my case i used 30GB data between 22 to 30 oct and waiting for my speed reduction but on 1 nov my fup get reset and my speed did not reduce to 2mb and i thought it is bug in bsnl and my speed is not going to reduce but now i know why my speed did not reduced.

I guess the billing issue has been answered well 😀

Yes, fup is not on pro rata basis, to the best of my knowledge.
