TP-Link TD-W8968

Ordered it from Flipkart yesterday. Got it at around 3pm today even without paying extra for 1-day delivery (lucky me). Did a quick setup and it seems to be working fine.

Only sometimes the internet connection is suddenly lost. All the appropriate lights keep blinking on the router, the router stats show that the line is up, but I simply cannot ping to any website.

Anyone knows what could have gone wrong in the setup?

Firmware version? A firmware update was released few weeks ago.
 
The Device Info page should show it.

Oh. So it's an old one - 1.0.5 Build 140321 Rel.42949

How do I update it? 😛
And you use MTNL too, right? Can you share your settings please?
 
Yes, I used the wizard and set everything up. But then there is that slight issue about which I mentioned in the OP.

I switched to Google DNS. Things seem better now. Don't know whether that's just placebo or real.
 
So I'm having a wierd problem off late. Whenever I shutdown or reboot my PC, it automatically reboots the router. PC is connected to the router via LAN :-|
