Guys i need your suggestion.

I have a BSNL connection which is in my bedroom. I am using DSL-2570U modem router. Now i want to extend my net connection to my living room, so should i go for a wifi extender(if yes, which) or a wifi router(if yes, which, need a cheap one around 800 buks). Also i need LAN ports also, for my TV and XBox setup.

I am currently using my old bsnl modem cum router AN-1020N for it. But when i switch it on, my D-Link wifi gets unsteady and drops NET connection and not LAN connection. If i keep old BSNL modem switched off, then wifi works fine. May be my old modem is buggy or wifi freqs of both modems are getting mixed.

Please need a technical answer for this as i am planning to buy a router or an extender or a switch as per the answers.

Thank You

@x720 is best suited for this query.

D-Link 2750U is a modem + router by itself as I believe. If not mistaken a dual antenna one and can give you a good range. Take the BSNL modem out and use Dlink 2750U . That will meet your needs in my opinion.

i am using just D-Link only for now, but one room is getting very weak range(due to walls), so i am looking for a solution.

thx but i need 2 lan ports also.

@siren

Can you run a lan wire around where you intend install the second router?

Otherwise what @meetdilip has suggested is good.

Normal router with extender capabilities = router with repeater mode.
Yes i have lan wire extended till there, which router should i go for which will work smoothly concurrently with 2750u? Around 700 to 800?

My old BSNL modem started working fine. issue was 192.168.1.1 assigned to both modems, assigned 192.168.1.10 to the router.
