hello everyone,

For the past 4 days, I have changed 4 phones for the same reason. I am using Airtel broadband and use wifi on all the devices at my home. The devices which connect are 4 phones and 2 laptops. I bought a new phone on 25 September 2014 , a micromax canvas L. What I experienced was unique and I haven't experienced this before. The problem was that the wifi connects in the phone but disconnects itself after 10-15 minutes. Wifi shows the networks available but even after repeated attempts it does not connect to the wifi unless i restart the phone. Once i restart the wifi connects but the same story repeats. On 26 September i changed the phone with a micromax canvas XL and experienced the same. I bought micromax canvas 2 colors and the story repeated the third time. Now i was really irritated and thought that the canvas series has some problem with wifi. But to be sure i got the wifi reconfigured by calling Airtel and submitting a complaint.

After everything, I bought Lenovo A 536 today, i.e on 29 September, 2014, but in vain. The proble still exists and I am highly distressed about this.

Kindly help me about this issue. I would be highly thankful to you.

Maybe it is time to buy a new router that can handle more than 6 devices.

But the phones before that worked fine. I mean i had some other phone before that and at that time too, all these devices connected perfectly.

please help me how to change the channels.

and yes sir, even if 2 devices were connected in the evening today, i noticed the same problem

right. looks like an interference problem. channel settings should be somewhere in your wireless router backend.

ok.. right.. there is something called channel and the default selected channel is 11. should i change it to any other value?

also, there is something called access control list. i read it somewhere that to connect more devices, deactivate the ACL. Should i or shouldn't I ?

@x720 should have more details. but yeah, feel free to play with the values... and find something that works for you!

Simply borrow settings / modem from a friend where Airtel is working fine. Check what is causing the issue.

changing channel or deactivating ACL didn't work for me. Tried it.
changed wireless mode to b+g
still problem occurs. i would like to add that the problem does not occur with any of the old devices EVER.
