Hey guys, i had trib 590NU for a long time. switched to trib unlimited for dec.06 and jan07 and got back on trib 590NU from feb.07the problem is: i was alloted a static for unlimited acct. now after having switched back to trib 590NU, mine ip address has remained the same! it's not like in earlier cases where dynamic ip was given each time. though this is not much of a problem, but still this causes some prob.s of their own! are other users of trib 590Nu having static ip or not?

What is the problem with static ip?Btw I prefer dynamic Ips too

^^Problem is in downloading from sites like link-removed, where you have to wait for an hour before downloading anything else. Also on private torrents sites, if you get banned once, you are gone forever with static IP.

yes sir~does any one else has the same prob. of static IP on trib 590NU

well use the ppoe/ppoa settings in modem to get rid of the static ipinstead of the static ip settingsi needed a static ip and you gave me a way to do so without paying..anyways are you still on 2 mbps speed or degraded..and can we change the internet connection plans anytime or have to wait for the billing month to end..

i never was on 2mbps 🙁 i think i using ppoe mode only!well first u have to pay Rs 999 for a month atleast.change anytime, but will activate either on 15th or 1th of the month!(minimum 7 days after requesting for change)pay the fees man=Rs 999 for getting to know the jugad! 😛

@torrentguru

I don't think the external IP has anything to do with the router setings. the external IP is assigned by the ISP, and it is the ISP settings which make a difference. Only the ISP can decide whether a dynamic or a static IP has to be given to you. The IP settings in the router only create a static internal IP.

@torrentguru...and even if u have a static IP, that "static ip setting" doesn't work 😛...u still can only use either PPPoE/A or bridge mode...
