Signed up with You Broadband

Fed up with the high prices of BSNL, I switched to Airtel. But Airtel is only able to provide me 2Mbps in my area in Anna Nagar East, Chennai. Hence I bit the bullet and took You Broadband in addition to Airtel. You Broadband was installed yesterday at my home. They took only about 20-30 mins to wire my house from the nearest pillar. The guys who came were competent and they were followed up by 2 technical guys who came to configure my modem and router. All went smooth and I am happy with the result as well as the speed that I am getting. I was given the 12Mbps plan - maximum possible on cable and I am getting between 5-12mbps at varied times, the few hours I used it since yesterday.
They are also apparently switching to Fibre and mentioned that in my area all connections will be migrated in a few weeks.
It is early days yet, but I am glad I gave them a try. I only took the one month plan, to be safe and will continue in a monthly fashion till I am confident of their services.

Day 3, heavy rains and my internet went down. I called the sales guy and the technical guys who came over to install my modem. They got someone to come with an hour or so and rewire the joint on the nearest pillar. I suspect this was not done as permanent as it should have been. I am not happy with their way of installing as it is just throwing cables over existing cables, without trying to ensure the cables are secured or fastened and can withstand a branch fall etc.

Day 5, this is the speed this morning.
