Hello All,

I have been using MTNL (Delhi) since a long time and always got the ping of about 40-60 to counter strike servers.
I have been facing some issues with MTNL connectivity and finally I was successful in getting someone to visit and sort out the wires so that the connection stays stable. Also, I upgraded the connection from 512kpbs unlimited to 1mbps unlimited.

Everything was working fine until after the day the technician did the cabling all over again. It worked great that day but next day onwards, I am getting high ping of about 180-250 on CS servers.

When I traceroute to CS servers, It shows that MTNL servers are giving me good pings but then it goes through Airtel servers which has high ping on them.

I didnt call MTNL thinking there is no point, however I have tried everything and I called them today and they said they will do some kind of synchronization on the connection, which I am sure would not resolve the issue.

I also searched many websites but didn't find anyone else facing similar issue, hence I registered here, hoping someone might know something.

I did a trace to 8.8.8.8 above
All the Triband IPs have average ping of 20
But as soon as I hit 'abts-north-static-125.176.144.59.airtelbroadband.in' it is giving an average of 291.
I get similar response to CS servers as well.
Please share if anyone has any inputs. Thanks in advance

Rehan

well exactly the same is going with me. I play alot of CS:GO and suddenly i'm noticing the same issue but some of my friends are not facing this issue with MTNL and some are.

Here's my tracert to one of the CS:GO Singaporian Server

Same thing happening with me...MTNL Mumbai..currently i have 180 ping 25% loss..there is not loss or connectivity problem outside of the game...

usually get 60-80 ping..

Is there no solution to this problem ? Does somebody know why all the traceroutes are going through Airtel ? I called exchange and asked if your ISP is Airtel, the guy got offended and said we give connection to Airtel and not them to us. But it doesn't seem like that..

Does look OK frm Mumbai

I had no ping problems for the entire last 1 year, until a few days..facing same problem as the delhi people...

Also...i do get good pings also during the day...but it keeps changing sometimes its 150 constant..sometimes 60.Sometimes 180 !

if it would've been constant even at 150 it's still playable but the problem is it keeps fluctuating

We cant do much abt it....... They dont understand why ping is so important.......

Airtel needs to fix it........ takes days sometimes..... or if MTNL rotates to another ISP...... like TATA or Sify.....

It use to happen many times when I was on 2Mbps...... Now on 8Mbps I havnt seen Airtel written in any of my tracerts for almost a yr...

Tracert frm the CS:GO server mentioned earlier.......

Your tracert is going through flagtel, thats nice...

The problem is that MTNL is not even aware of this probably.
