Is it worth ditching BSNL & going for Railwire?

Railwire recently initiated their services in my city. They've rolled out fiber in select areas & fortunately my house is right next to their node.

The tariff plans look pretty darn solid, on paper. But I would like to know from folks who've actually tried the service if its reliable, in terms of QoS et al.

I am currently on BSNL's promotional ULD 2799 plan & if I ditch BSNL, I am afraid I won't be able to get this plan back. Hence, my dilemma.

Thanks. [emoji4]

PS: I am from Amravati, Maharashtra.

Hi,

Even I am from Perumbakkam, looking for new Broadband connection. Can I get any contact number for Railwire Fiber Broadband in Perumbakkam, Chennai? You can mail me in fort_shen@yahoo.com

i heard that to pay the bill you need to call the person to your house and pay? there's no option to pay online (netbanking)

That's correct. There is no straight forward option available to pay from RailWire's site directly. However, I transfer funds (net banking) directly to the cable service provider's bank account on a monthly basis. So, there is no hassle for me.

@anand2793 - the cable that they have laid to your house, is it optical fibre?
there is a dealer near my house in Porur (an old TV cable operator) but my experience with him has not been very good. Who has laid the cable to your house? I tried to contact Railwire online and my telephone (their lines are dead!) but like any government organisation, I have not been able to get any response! What has been your experience.
There are a couple of private cable broadband operators in the city (my friend in Alwarpet has got one from ACT) but they do not reach Porur.

Hi gokulesh you mentioned that 2mbps for 899 but in their site the tariff plan states that 30gb 4mbps @799 and 40gb @899. Can you explain the rates clearly. Thank you
