Setting Wifi At Home ... Smartax Mt880 + Compex Np27g

hi, I have just purchased a wireless router compex NP27G ..... i have smartax MT880 from bsnl....... now i want to set wifi at home ........though i am able to reach the ip 192.168.1.1 for smartax MT880 but when i connect the adsl router (smartax MT880) with the wifi router (compex NP27G) using ethernet cable (in wlan port of wifi router) and connect wifi router to my laptop using another ethernet cable (IN LAN port of wifi router) ..... i am unable to access 192.168.1.1 ...... i read the manual of compex NP27G ...... it says to access 192.168.168.1 ....... even that is inaccesible........ can u suggest where the problem can be????? also to connect i will be required to embedd the username and password of bsnl into one of these routers....... in which one should i embedd it........also can the problem be that my smartx MT880 has ip 192.168.1.1 and compex NP27g has ip as 192.168.168.1 ........ if yes how to resolve it ?
