New BBNL Connection 10 Mbps UL for Rs.1400

That was hypothetically pal.
If another good ISP does come to my service area and offers similar price and speeds with higher fup. I'll definitely give it a try

Awesome brotha...

WoW ... my area also has ACT Broadand now !
Rs.1399 for 40Mbps without counting upload sounds like a better option, will switch next month 🙂

Using ACT Fibernet 100 Mbps plans now 🙂

Strange. Wonder why the name of the ISP is "Broad Band Internet Service" when it should ideally be "Atria convergence".. atleast that's what I have noticed in other speedtest results from ACT Broadband.

However, this is awesome Madhusudhan7! At this rate we should have the 200 mpbs, 500 mbps by end of this year from ACT. This one company to watch out for. They have already touched the 7 lakh subscriber mark ( broadband + cable ).

I've took their Static IP Service recently and this is what shows up as ISP ever since

And yes, I'm hoping to see better speeds from then soon enough. Maybe 1Gbps, although I have no clue of what I would do with that kind of speeds [emoji12]

With higher speeds you could run a media server from home which has capability of remote streaming .. Download Blu-ray quality movies, stream 4k content from YouTube etc etc. 🙂

Already have a Netgear NAS with 8tb storage and of course streaming capabilities. I've tried FTP based sharing but still need to figure out the rest

I really want to be able to link everything top my website madhusudhan.in and provide restricted access backed by proper security

Whats the model number of the Netgear NAS you have ? I have been researching about NAS for long now. Personally feel for home users Synology has a good line up but difficult to purchase this off the shelf in Bangalore, I think.

RN104 is what I have
Yes Synology has good reviews, a few in the forum also recommend it but I chose Netgear because of the offer price at the time and availability

Pretty good. Would give around 90-93 Mbps when I was on 100 Mbps ACT Incredible.
I've however downgraded to 50 Mbps since and get between 47-48 Mbps at most times

*Experienced two downtimes ever since, the second one lasted about 4 days because of fiber cut

RMVIT the local cable operator providing optical fiber internet under the brand BBNL at Sanjaynagar have removed FUP for all their plans.

This is now truly unlimited broadband.

Its sad that the LCO's decide the pricing. So under the brand BBNL different areas with different LCOs will have different pricing.
