wow, so many snake charmers here 🙂

anyway I live in Allahabad (u.p.) and snakes and me have a long history.
when I was a kid, and stayed in dense city area, we had a long house where we had printing press in ground floor and we lived on top.

my parents tell me, when I was around 3 years, I caught a baby snake and brought it to them, they were almost fainted within flash of a second one of our oldest family friend who was playing carom board in terrace with father took me in his lap and made me gently remove it, later he caught him in glass bowl and left somewhere. it was not like the one I posted here but a thick one.
That Rejendra uncle was in bank and he retired a few yrs back, when ever we meet we always have this question between us.
he says "ab to saanp nahin pakadte tum"

our printing press also had snake found sometimes in paper storage godown, under floor area of machines etc. but now we live 10km away from that house.

I am not scared of snakes, I don't want to kill them either, but I've small kids which is only cause of worry I have.

Getting that area and cavities sealed with Dr.fixit grout (white cement like) which seals the area between tiles and floors.

even my surname includes a snake's name 🙂

Lastly I wanted to move to NCR since last year, but seems this city doesn't wants me to go that easily, and GZB is also getting tougher for me to welcome, trying again.....

Yes not just you everyone is scared of it but believe me you don't have to be a pro to kill it as a long thin blunt stick would do just fine for you.

Being from the Northeast, encounters with snakes felt just as normal as anything else. They would make an appearance every monsoon. I think I killed around half a dozen of them, after which we would pour kerosene on it and watch it go boom 🙄

That's cruelty! You can catch it and drop to remote place.

@pkmishra

To be able to kill it, I'd need some killing ability, right? As it is I'm scared of them..

It is much easier to kill a snake than to catch it. just get a stick, jump on the bed and hit it with the stick. there is more chance of it biting you if you try to catch it. 🙁

DISCLAIMER: Follow this only if your life is in danger. Don't kill snakes, as they are essential for ecological balance.

The best way to kill a snake is to break their back bone. Take a big stick and hit it hard in exactly middle part of the snake's body. The snake will be paralysed. You can then kill it safely without getting bitten.

Or another way is to rupture the hood of the snake using a catapult as it is the softest and vulnerable part of its body, but there is risk of getting bitten in this method.

I am tempted to make sure warthog is not missed by quoting about not killing due to ichadari nag/curse and stuff...

is @warthog still banned? May be its already time to lift ban! 😀

(Although we already know what will happen after he is back!)

The recent conflict was that warthog wanted a blank approval to post anywhere anything anytime. Sushubh wanted him to stay out of his way and he will let him be. Then he was forced to set him up on always moderated mode.. Which finally let to complete ban.
