Serendipity,

1) You should leave the bandwidth override off, in most cases, the automatic redirect should work for you - so in the Login screen, uncheck "Override default domain".

2) In case the above does not work, check "override default domain" try some of the predefined IPs already listed. 10.0.0.13 is not a valid IP address AFAIK.
If you do have another IP address you wish to use, you only need to enter the address or the domain - nothing else (i.e. enter 10.240.144.195, not http://10.240.144.195/myportal...)

Hope this helps,
Brian.

Hi Guys,

DataFox is an easy to use, cross platform & customizable extension to Firefox, which you can use monitor your DataOne Broadband bandwidth usage. It is not a standalone program and will only work when installed as an extension to Firefox.
DataFox is ......

Great work Brian. And thanks Sushubh for certifying Brian. Adds credibility to the site.

I'm ready to help you - if you can create a cool extension like that for MTNL. How about an Opera Widget?

i put in my vote again for an opera widget. it's simple dude. some XML 🙁

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the compliments, it really does make a big difference in my motivation levels 🙂. The next version of DataFox is already in the works, this version supports MTNL and will have some multi window efficiency enhancements.
The corresponding thread for MTNL is here: https://broadband.forum/index.php?showtopic=11211

Opera Widget
Every now and then someone does ask for an Opera widget, so I am considering it now - but I'd like to know if you guys actively use other Opera widgets?
I developed the Firefox extension because it seemed really appropriate to see the bandwidth used in my FF status bar. It's also easily accessible.
When you consider a widget - any widget for that matter, it isn't a part of the browser UI, it's going to be on your desktop - it isn't really a part of Opera, other than the fact that Opera is providing the widget engine - and it closes when Opera closes. In this case there isn't really any Opera browser integration, which is disappointing - btw, Opera does not allow the creation of FF like extensions - in an effort to closely control the quality of the browser.
This is why I said above that I'd rather develop a Konfabulator (or Y! Widget Engine) widget.
What are your thoughts on this subject?

Brian.

excellent work... 🙂 but today its not working.its showing DataFox: Usage Data N/Ai tried it on all the ip addresses below.the sites are working though if u check usage through browser.10.240.128.19510.240.144.19510.240.240.19510.240.89.19910.240.43.21610.240.16.19510.240.0.195plz reply

ahhh...can someone pls delete this ^ post...and mine too??? 🙂

EDIT: may not make sense as the above post has already been deleted

hey sushubh, can u put a check that Net Connection Type is not same as User ID...these buggers keep them same...

They seem to be working for me now. I noticed that one or two of the servers are throwing up, even when you visit the site in the browser - so it seems like a temporary glitch with BSNLs servers.

For example, I just tried these 3 IPs and it works fine:
10.240.144.195
10.240.240.195
10.240.89.199

Only if DataFox is not working for you

Users who use the default redirect option (see login dialog) might want to select override and select one of the above IPs.

If you want to stick with the default redirect option:
You could try restarting the browser, the extension will hopefully get the IP of a working server when you restart. (Redirect IPs obtained from sancharnet.in are cached for a browsing session).

Let me know if any of you still experience issues,
Brian.

i really doubt we have that much flexibility with login registration. i will try to find out plugins that makes registration a bit complicated than it now is. 😕

it's weird how these bots are able to register, verify their mail ids and target particular posts and forums.

earlier they used to make new topics, now they're posting within topics...seems they're more than bots...or must be a smart bot...
