I wanted to change my plan from 175 GB 2mbps to 4mbps at 80 GB since I wouldn't be using much for the next 3 months or so...
Now I got a mail saying that they are providing only max of 2mbps in my area.. WTF??
I was using 8mbps, which peaked at about 10mbps few months back... Seriously thinking about quitting Airtel and their shitty services...

I was on 4mbps when I dumped Airtel 1.5 years ago. 2-3 months ago I tried applying for a new connection and they said the same thing... Only 2mbps. I went to Reliance and got their connection. Few days later I get a call from Airtel people and they said that 4mbps is indeed available in my area and I can apply for a new connection. I told them to fuck off.

yeah I'm guessing they aren't able to properly check feasibility or something??
It is a stupid thing to do as well, because I'm asking for less Data usage at more speed.
More speed is definitely not an issue for the ISP, and what kind of infrastructure would provide 2mbps but not 4mbps?? :sidefrown: :sidefrown: :sidefrown: :sidefrown:

I've been using 4 mbps for 2.5 years now. In the past month, I've been experiencing frequent disconnections. Now, they are saying that 4 mbps is not feasible given the distance of my residence from the exchange. And that the rest of the 750 connections in the area use only 2 mbps. I told them that I was given 4mbps speeds only after feasibility study was done and that moving back to 2 mbps is not an option for me. How was I able to get 4 mbps without any issues for the past 3 years and why can't I get the same now? If they don't fix the problem soon I've no choice than to disconnect Airtel after 9 years and go with ACT or Reliance.

When I had Airtel, they initially told me that the max feasible in my area is 4mbps, but on telling them I want 8mbps or nothing, they gave me 8mbps. Within a week of installation, got a call from the installation guy saying he can upgrade my 8mbps to 16mbps for 300/month 😛
