Vista Buying Guide For India

i want to buy vista premium home. its not available in india as its not launched. i tried to download it from circuit city but it says it want usa address !!now two points i want to ask you guys is that the upgrade versions which are available at cheap rate requires a real purchased version of an old windows(xp or 2000 or 98)?If old versions are not genuine will vista home premium upgrade work?it says that if I have 98 or xp prof then I need to clean whole HDD and then install that upgrade version hence, I am bit confused.also whats the OEM status of the same !! Has any one bought the vista genuine?please post your comments !

And the oem version is better, though its only limitation is you shouldn't change hardware too much, else it wont activate.

I expected that prathapml only would be able to answer this query !! thanks for the post!in nutshell if you have original old windows.. its better to buy upgrade vistaelse go for full oem vistaelse if you are a format junkie then go for full version vista!

just save the original disks. and keep a telephone handy for making all those activation calls.

How much does Vista cost in India?

If there are 5 people willing to work together, they could have an MSDN subscription for $75 per head.

That would give them license for Vista + Office + Pretyy much any other MS software.
