Maybe should not think of getting it after all, also I think I have just 1 credit card, that too because of backup purposes... I am scared of getting caught in the impulsive purchaser cycle...

No harm in applying for the same and trying to bargain for the charges. It is an excellent card to have if you can get it for free. If you can use it properly, even paying would not hurt much. If you spend a lot using your card, you can easily cover up the charges. Especially if you are already paying for your existing card that does not have comparable benefits.

The only reason I am having this card because its free... I threatened to close, every time they put an annual fee.. and finally told them, if they ever charged me annual fee again...I wont even consider retaining it.. and since then (must be 3-4 years) there have been no charges.
I doubt I will be able to make 60k worth of payments in card bills annually. EB, BSNL bills might help as they would be more than 5k per month average across the year, but I also think they put a service charge which moots the whole point of using this card..

Right. If you are doing fine with a credit card, no point in getting entangled with one!

In any case, if anyone is interested in applying for a card... I might be able to provide you with a custom link to apply :D I have not tried it yet but I do think there are tons of lead generation options in the services I am using right now.

Right, noticed it.. but I am also wondering, if I really will be able to make up that much in online payments. The most likely candidates are BSNL & EB, and they in turn charge for credit card payments...

BSNL does not charge anything extra for online card payments from what I understand. Only petrol pumps and some retailers do.

Oh ok... I guess I am confused with maybe IRCTC or so other thing.. But TNEB does charge around 1-2%.. If someone can confirm if BSNL is covered under cashback & also no extra charges.. then I might give it a this card a shot....
