There are a couple of crap points.

It only works on payments above Rs. 750.
On petrol pumps, you end up getting 2.5% coz they deduct the surcharge from the 5%. So I avoid paying for bike petrol using the card. It does not go above Rs. 500.
Plus there are some other conditions...

I no longer own a bike and my phone bill is around 1k a month :)
Card is life time free and therefore I have nothing to loose.
I have got so frustrated by SC services in last few months that i reached on the verge of closing the card but then I realized I have nothing to loose :)

Annual Fees of Rs.750 & Joining fee of Rs.500 is there ? Does it work on all Utility bill, it works? We have TNEB for electricity. Is that covered. I guess with that even then, I believe TNEB charges for credit card payments, just like your petrol pump guys. So I need to do the math, even before I even think about applying for this one.

Apparently v1rus and me got it at a time when it was offered for free. I dumped my StanChart bank account (me and mom's) last year but I retained this card. It is apparently quite hard to get now as they do not offer it easily. Since I do not pay anything for it, it ends up saving me some money every year.

Dont you get random calls, that sell you credit cards?
Usually they have schemes to issue you cards for free, but do take their offers with a pinch of salt

As for the utility bills... I have stopped bothering about checking. Earlier they used to give cashback instantly. I mean the funds were back in your account after a day or two. They changed that few months ago. Now your cashback gets accumulated in a different account like reward points. And you have to manually credit them back to your account or something like that. It's annoying really.

I am on DND list.. Its extremely rare that I get telemarketing calls.. In fact, even SMS have gone down a lot thankfully.. Its now down to 1-2 SMS per month & maybe a call in a month.
