The full article is on TOI newspaper.
They will be installed on all homesindustries which have power supply btw 10-50kw and will use gprs tech to remotely send data to their centre at hisar.
a quote "If there is a shortage of supply in an area we can reduce and balance it on the other thereby regulating supply during peak demand.
They will install from year end. My only hope is the privacy bill being passed by that time.
The govt needs warrant to search my hope. Here the power utility is invading my privacy by checking data in real time and switching appliances if it thinks that i am using more power. It can also have time based tariffs and not unit based tariff so in peak hours i will be charged more.

I wonder how power fluctuates so much?

In Mumbai I have never heard about it. Most dont even know that there is something called voltage fluctuation!!

Hehe. Gurgaon is ispeshul. Since I shifted here, I have spent atleast 3 nights here in 2.5 months with voltage as low as 105V. Fuckers don't even turn off the mains and let the fluctuation go on. So far our fridge and washing machine has got damaged. Spent 11k to repair the fridge + 12k to buy a smaller one for emergency and a new washing machine. Also had to spend 30k on a big ass inverter for larger backup.

Fortunately the Inverter has a clever mechanism which allows it to takeover the mains whenever voltage falls to dangerous levels.

right now.

This is from few days ago. I do not think I have seen values as low as these since I moved to Gurgaon back in 2004.

This is right now. Was wondering why my fridge was not working. Stabilizer had cut off power to it.

So I'm hearing through the neighbors that DHBVn has put up some smart meters, which end up inflating bills.

Anyone else has these so-called smart meters installed by DHBVN at their place?

Ours were replaced few weeks ago. It's not clear though what they plan to do eventually. I have heard two different things about these. One is that they have m2m Sims so they would no longer need to take readings manually. The other is that they would switch to prepaid billing. So you would need to recharge your meters to get supply.

Yeah heard about the prepaid thing too. Not sure when DHBVN plans to give clarity on the change.
