Hi,Can some kindly soul instruct me on how to configure the above router to connect to BSNL Broadband. It used to work great with the Touchtel but I am unable to get it to work with BSNL.These are my settings :LAN :ip address : 192.168.1.1DHCP enabledip address lease range : 192.168.1.101 to 192.168.1.150netmask : 255.255.255.0WAN:Connection Type : g.dmtFirewall/NAT enabledPPPoEVCI = 0VPI = 35MTU = 1400User ID = myid@dataonePassword : mypasswordI have not tampered with any of the advanced settings, like routing, etc. In the modem's admin page screen in the browser, it shows that the link has been established at 256 Kbps upstream and 2058 Kbps downstream. However, in connection status screen it shows pppoe as 'not connected'. I am able to ping 192.18.1.1 but nothing else. Not even BSNL's gateway ip 59.92.8.1Where am I going wrong ? Any takers at D-Link ? Please reply asap.RegardsShankar Lakshmanan

Hi,

Can some kindly soul instruct me on how to configure the above router to connect to BSNL Broadband. It used to work great with the Touchtel but I am unable to get it to work with BSNL.

These are my settings :

LAN :
ip address : 192.168.1.1
DHCP enabled
ip address lease range : 192.168.1.101 to 192.168.1.150
netmask : 255.255.255.0

WAN:
Connection Type : g.dmt
Firewall/NAT enabled
PPPoE
VCI = 0
VPI = 35
MTU = 1400
User ID = myid@dataone
Password : mypassword

I have not tampered with any of the advanced settings, like routing, etc. In the modem's admin page screen in the browser, it shows that the link has been established at 256 Kbps upstream and 2058 Kbps downstream. However, in connection status screen it shows pppoe as 'not connected'. I am able to ping 192.18.1.1 but nothing else. Not even BSNL's gateway ip 59.92.8.1

Where am I going wrong ? Any takers at D-Link ? Please reply asap.

1. Is yr mode/router sysncing i.e the Link Led colour - green and stable (or could be orange but stable)
2. Probably not sysncing. Change ur MTU to 1500.
3. Also status (ATM Setting) - does it talkf Auth Falure. I had it on 2 or 3 occasions. probaly authentication failure. Then chk/ask BSNL abour yr id/passwd combination
