I have another off topic question, hope chief doesn't turn me to the graveyard -_-
I've placed an order on snapdeal a couple of minutes back, my first,
I've had experience with most other sites, n I've always noticed shipping times of less than maximum 5-6 days (extreme) unless it's coming from another country where it stretches even upto months.
Now I don't understand why snapdeal tells me EXPTD dispatch by 7th April and delivery within 4-7 days of despatch.
Is this just for real or would the product arrive earlier?
Also, People who already have gotten the 3gig freebie coupon, may I know when I would be receiving it? In despatch or delivery or whatever? I have ordered for an Iball 3g+ wireless N router for bsnl evdo.
It was eligible for the freebie.
End of rant 😛

I received it before the product was dispatched.

tell you one thing,
the time for dispatch quoted on product page is usually MAXIMUM Allowed to the merchant.
Usually merchants ship within first 24 hours (working days ofcourse)
So you might get a email with AWB No: before the actual dispatch due date as on products page.
This was earlier dealt with very TIGHT Timelines and if merchant took more than 24 hours to arrange there were loads of calls and emails for the selling website to answer.
Internally speaking, most stores now ask merchants about "Handover time" and based on Courier Data, Portals calculate the delivery details and publishes it,
so customer doesn't starts yelling that I want it next day blah blah blah.

Delivery time would based on the seller and the availability of the product with the seller. And of course, it would also depend upon the logistics partner.

that's what I was telling, recently the backend software update made changes and now critical part is committed "HANDOVER"
if handover time is specified 1 day, the selling portal would put a SLA Penalty on seller, so many sellers even when having the good in stock would specify 2-3 days handover
time so they are on safer side and currently no portal Penalizes for being before time.

I agree that is the maximum time, but yet they could have been a bit more decent and generous with the numbers, to be frank, if they had posted this before I made the payment, I would have thought twice of other alternatives. Since 5+7 days is a total joke in the current scenario and standards of e commerce websites.

if they posted ?? have they mailed you somewhere or you are referring to this thread. its we members, no one official from those store here to best of my GK.
the actual product page would have that info already.
as you are in Chennai, I am sure it would not reach you before testing patience.
in my town, Bluedart took almost entire week to deliver a over night package, even Rs.25/- desk courier delivered overnight to delhi, but bluedart said
Train cancelled blah blah blah.

^ I meant if snapdeal had informed me before payment about such weird numbers for delivery I would have thought of other options like flipkart.
But it's about 700 bucks costlier there :/.
According to my past experience, bluedart takes a maximum of 2-4 days, whereas FedEx has been real quick under 2 days.
N yeah, I'm getting prepared for nonsense 🙁
Thanks for these informative words though bro 🙂

This offer is just in papers still no data balance when checking with CC he asked me to check with snapdeal, I said I got auto generated reply from Aircel itself after sending the code still said contact snapdeal haha 😀

^yes. I did.
But nowhere was I mentioned it would take 48 hours to credit the balance? You have any pointers ?

Edit :just noticed the 48 hour window in the illustration pic that came with the email.
